"The protagonist is Callie, who has a an amazing adventure. There was a spore war that changed a lot of kids life. the only ones alive were eighteen and below, and sixty-five and above because they had the vaccination. Here parents died and it was just her and her brother. She lived on the streets as an unclaimed minor, a child who doesn't have a grandparent, for a year. Her brother is sick and needs money for him to stay alive. she found out about this program that gives you a surplus of money for sleeping, but it was much more than that. She would lend enders, older folk, her body so that they could be young again. She had already done two rentals but her third one was when everything went wrong. Her confusion made a great adventure and her love life made it just a bit more interesting. There definitely will have to be a sequel or else i will cry forever. This book was very well written and made you not want to stop. This book is just as good as Cinder or maybe better. Thank you Lissa Price for making a book that made my life at least three percent better."

— Kirkus Reviews" I didn't think I would like this as much as I did. Very good story. "
— T., 2/19/2014" I think it's a great story! Sure I see a tiny little bit of the hunger games and the host in it but that makes it so amazingly entertaining! I couldn't stop reading and finished it in half a week. Lissa Price is a great author! "
— Robin, 1/29/2014" I found the story to be very interesting. It started off great, the middle was okay, and the ending was a bit dissapointing, but not in that kind of way, only because of the whole situation with Blake?!?!? Other than that, the ending was good. The "old man" seems insane and I thought it might have been the Senator the entire time. But the last couple of sentences freaked me out. Was that actually her Dad speaking or was she just remembering something? Idk, all I kno is that I'll definitely check out the next one for answers! "
— Noelle, 1/25/2014" This book really pegged the creepy meter for me...but I LOVED it! The concept of Starters vs. Enders in a post-apocalypic zone after the spore wars was really interesting. I cannot wait for the second book in this series. "
— Kim, 1/24/2014" "When hawks cry, time to fly." "
— Inge, 1/19/2014" I could see this being a movie! "
— Julie, 1/14/2014" Its amazing. A little scary with the whole idea of someone in your body. i like it but i don't love it. "
— Lorretta, 1/10/2014" I thought that this was a good book. I lost track of it a little bit a few times, but it always lead me back into the story. The plot of the story did drag on a little bit, but it was a good story. I can't wait for the next book! "
— Andy, 12/28/2013" The story was interesting... I'm really into that future world sci-fi stuff, so it was definitely the kind of book I liked. If you are into that kind of genre I do recommend this one. "
— Kristen, 11/21/2013" Starters is an easy, entertaining read. Alot of questions were not answered and the story could have gone deeper. Right now I give it a 2.5-3 stars and I'll probably adjust it depending on how the sequel is. "
— Melana, 8/3/2013" Though this book would have been perfect if it had been just a bit more believable, I absolutely love the concept of rentals and the cool mask and scare tactics the Old Man uses. "
— Morpheyy, 5/6/2013" I read this fast, in one day, and couldn't put it down. I was tired of the dystopian thing but got hooked anyway. Interesting concept and now I have to wait till December for the sequel. Love/hate series. This was almost a stand-alone until the very end. Good book! "
— Gerry, 6/21/2012" I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped, but I think it's no fault of the author's. I think I'm just outgrowing teenaged heroines. "
