The Clone Wars have exploded across the galaxy as Republic forces and Separatists struggle to gain the upper hand. But while the Jedi generals work tirelessly to defeat Count Dooku and his rebels, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine is hatching his own dark plans.

The Separatists have launched a sneak attack on Coruscant. Obi-Wan Kenobi, wounded in battle, insists that Anakin Skywalker and his rookie Padawan Ahsoka leave on a risky mission against General Grievous. But when Senator Bail Organa reveals explosive intelligence that could turn the tide of war in the Republic’s favor, the Jedi Master agrees to accompany him to an obscure planet on the Outer Rim to verify the facts. What Obi-Wan and Bail don’t realize is that they’re walking into a deadly trap concocted by Palpatine . . . and that escape may not be an option.

Inspired by the full-length animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the brand-new TV series, this thrilling adventure is filled with provocative, never-before-revealed insights into the characters of Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, Yoda, Count Dooku, and many other Star Wars favorites.

" Well-written tie-in that goes somewhat deeper into the personalities and experiences of Obi-wan Kenobi and Bail Organa as they set out on a mission to discover a Sith temple on a hidden planet beyond the Outer Rim. "

" One of the better Star Wars books I have read in a long time. Considering her work with Bobba Fett in a nine-volume series I was worried this book might have too much emphasis on personality; but she balanced the character development with the action very well. "

" Seriously excellent Star Wars novel. This author knows her stuff. She did an amazing job getting into the heads of our favorite characters. "

" I really enjoyed the way Karen Miller writes, especially the way you are seeing things through the various character's viewpoints. "

" Not bad once it got going, but very repetitive. Good to know there's a back story as to why Obi-Wan trusts Bail, but I would actually term this a teen novel it was so obvious in plot, characterizations, etc. It was nice to be away from Anakin though. "

" I loved this book and the characterization of Obi-Wan and Bail Organa during their trip to Zigoola. The details were perfect -- not too many and not too sparse. I really enjoyed every second of this book, even the parts that didn't deal with my favorite characters, which is unusal for me. "

" A really good book over-all. One of the best Star Wars books that I have read. Karen Miller really takes her time and develops a relatively non-technological society as the backdrop for the story. It was a refreshing change for the series as a whole. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 Kristen | 9/25/2010

" I really liked this duo of books. The story was fast-paced and fun. I think Miller did a nice job creating the dialogue for the "teebs" and she made them sound practically Amish. I so wish I was a Jedi! :-) "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 DC | 4/12/2010

" An imptovement in writing style over volume one, and also a more coherent story. I did care about the characters, which was a bonus. "
