Before the marriage of Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo, another suitor threatened to derail their star-crossed romance. . . .
Seeking rich, powerful allies to bring into the Rebel Alliance and a new home planet for the refugees from her native Alderaan, Princess Leia considers a proposal that could tip the balance of power against the evil Empire. The Hapes Consortium of 63 worlds is ruled by the Queen Mother, who wants Leia to marry her son, the dashing and wealthy Prince Isolder.
Han Solo has always dreamed of marrying Leia himself, and now he makes a desperate, final gamble to win her back. Tricking Leia into accompanying him, Han flees with her to the beautiful and untamed planet Dathomir, where he hopes to win her heart.
Fearing the imperious queen’s reaction to Han’s rash move, Luke Skywalker forms an unlikely alliance with Prince Isolder to track down the runaways. Soon Isolder, Luke, and Artoo will be at the center of an adventure leading to an awesome treasure, a group of Force-trained “witches,” and a showdown with an invincible foe.

"As a female Star Wars fan I am weak when it comes to romance. Yes, it got weird. Yes, it was pretty out there (even for Star Wars), but it was pretty awesome to read how Han and Leia eventually got married. Plus the very ending has a pretty hilarious twist in my opinion."

" I don't remember to much, so probably not that good, and its a Star Wars book, so behold, 2 stars. "
— Eric, 2/20/2014" One of my personal favorites. "
— Carly, 2/3/2014" Average book that explains the Leia & Han Solo relationship. Not all that great on the personalities of all the characters. "
— Nigel, 1/26/2014" Has Wolverton ever seen any of the original Star Wars movies? Was this a story about some other set of characters crammed into the Star Wars universe (a la the I Robot movie)? Leia's behavior is ridiculously out of character and the plot is contrived. "
— Icarus, 1/25/2014" If you read one Star Wars book, read Shatterpoint. If you read two, read this one. Who knew that a good romance could be made out of the events leading up to Han and Leia's wedding? Brilliant action, a cool alien society, and Luke and Han at top form. "
— Sean, 1/20/2014" I never read any Star Wars books..ever. This one was surprisingly readable lol! "
— Cindy, 12/31/2013" rooted for han and leia all the way they belong together "
— Susan, 9/2/2013" Three words: witches riding rancors. "
— Alex, 6/15/2013" I read this book over and over again, especially the last few chapters. I loved the scenes between Han and Leia even though I was pretty fixated on Luke at the time. He had some pretty good action in this one too. "
— Sarah, 2/23/2013" I've seen a lot of reviews comparing this book to fan fiction. I think that's really doing an injustice to authors of fan fiction. "
— Allison, 2/3/2012" There were witches! And an epic romance! What else could my teenage girl's heart have desired? "
— Kelly, 1/23/2012" Absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. "
— Kelly, 6/3/2008" A good enough read. I find it interesting that so many of these books feel the need to give Luke a love interest that only lasts 100 pages. That guy sure wears his heart on his sleeve... "
— Jeremy, 5/23/2008" It was okay yet a little weird "
