Something Borrowed is the smash-hit debut novel from Emily Giffin for every woman who has ever had a complicated love-hate friendship. The basis for the blockbuster movie starring Kate Hudson, Ginnifer Goodwin, and John Krasinski! Rachel White is the consummate good girl. A hard-working attorney at a large Manhattan law firm and a diligent maid of honor to her charmed best friend Darcy, Rachel has always played by all the rules. Since grade school, she has watched Darcy shine, quietly accepting the sidekick role in their lopsided friendship. But that suddenly changes the night of her thirtieth birthday when Rachel finally confesses her feelings to Darcy's fiance, and is both horrified and thrilled to discover that he feels the same way. As the wedding date draws near, events spiral out of control, and Rachel knows she must make a choice between her heart and conscience. In so doing, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren't always neat, and sometimes you have to risk everything to be true to yourself.

"Really liked this story much better than the movie. Way more details and especially like that Annalise is in there which is a name I have never seen mentioned anywhere before other than my own kid. Jumped right into the next installment as son as I finished it"
— April (5 out of 5 stars)
Jennifer Wiltsie's warm, emotionally expressive voice immediately draws listeners into Giffin's story and makes them sympathize with Rachel, whose growing attraction to her best friend's fiance eventually develops into a guilt-ridden affair. Wiltsie handles the other characters deftly.
— Publishers Weekly" I found myself bored half way through the read and wanting it be over. I'm pretty shameless about my love for chick-lit but this novel got me rethinking my love for such superficial entertainment. "

— Kylie, 2/2/2014" Somewhat predictable and drug out. "
— Lyndee, 2/1/2014" I actually quite adored this book. It was a bit cheesy, but fast-paced and very entertaining. "

— Neha, 1/30/2014" Didn't like the beginning so much because she seemed so whiny and lost. But I guess we have to know the past.....to understand the future. Reading the next book to find out what will happen. Then will watch the movie. My client likes the book better. But we shall see..... :0) "
— Tay, 1/20/2014" Very boring...took me a very long time to get through. "

— Katie, 5/24/2012" The best book ever!! It started my reading career!!!! "
— Diana, 5/6/2012" I would recommend this book to a young 20 year old who is single. Not really a great read for a woman who is older and who has been married for a long time. I finished it but it took me forever. I did not relate to the main character's dilemma at all. I found her caddy and irritating. "
