With the holidays over and the long cold winter looming, January can be a bleak month in Minneapolis. So what better way to bring a little cheer to the good people of the city than by sponsoring an old-fashioned snowman-building contest? In a matter of hours, a local park is filled with the innocent laughter of children and their frosty creations. But things take an awful turn when the dead bodies of police officers are discovered inside two of the snowmen—sending the entire department and Detectives Magozzi and Rolseth on high alert.
The next day, Iris Rikker, the newly minted sheriff of rural Dundas County, comes across another body in another snowman. Fearing that Rikker’s inexperience will hamper the investigation, Magozzi and Rolseth head north—in a blizzard—to hunt for clues. As Grace MacBride and her crack computer jocks at Monkeewrench comb the Web for connections, a terrifying link emerges, connecting the dead cops, Magozzi and Rolseth, and Monkeewrench—a link that must be broken before it’s too late.

"So far there's two dead policemen, over a foot of snow, and we have discovered that yes even Grace McBride's pajamas are black. Also, English teachers should not become sheriffs. After reading this I would say that there needs to be more Monkeewrench in the next Monkeewrench book, and that I would have preferred a more concrete ending. I would also still suggest the novel to my friends though. Over all, a decent read but compared to the other three nothing special."
— Lauren (4 out of 5 stars)
" Not much from the Monkeewrench side, but an innovative plot and fast read. "
— Gail, 2/19/2014" great series, can not wait for the next one! "
— Annie, 2/3/2014" Great book, not sure how I feel about the ending. The series just keeps getting better and better. "
— Keri, 1/23/2014" Much better than the previous of this series! It was clever with out being too out there. I would still like to see more of the Monkeewrench crew! They are the best part but the focus has seemed to switch to the detectives. "
— Jennifer, 1/15/2014" Read my thoughts at: Thoughts of Joy... "
— Joy, 1/7/2014" Liked this one very much. A little less of the Monkeewrench gang and a bit more of the police officers, but well plotted and interesting. "
— Sharon, 1/7/2014" Really still liking this series! And not sure if it's because I listened to this one, but I thought some parts were suspenseful enough to make me anxious listening. On to the next one! "
— Dulcie, 12/31/2013" Not as good as last one, but still reads fast. "
— Kendra, 12/27/2013" This was a good book and easy to read. I liked the storyline but I found the ending unsatisfactory as no arrests were made, the murders were vaguely solved but nothing was definite. "
— Alice, 12/7/2013" Very engaging murder mystery - all quite unbelievable of course but wonderful mind bubblegum. "
— Kris, 12/6/2013" Another terrific book in P.J. Tracy's "Monkeewrench" series. I believe there are now six books in this series; Snow Blind is the fourth book in the series. If you have not read any of these books, you are missing a treat. I love all of them, and I highly recommend them for everyone. "
— Carolyn, 12/5/2013" Most of this book was only worth 2-stars, but I felt like being generous... the moral dilemma in the ending made me think. "
— Kenny, 11/19/2013" Interesting story. It was a quick and easy read. "
— Diane, 10/19/2013" It was OK. It reminded me alot of the US Columbo programme from the 1970's. "
— Jonathan, 2/20/2013" This book ended very differently than I suspected - a very good book. I love these mysterys. "
— Janell, 1/1/2013" excellent.. I've read all 4 now.. what will I do??? "
— Helen, 7/9/2012" So much better than Dead Run although the fact that the murders weren't resolved kinda upsets me. Oh well. "
— Patricia, 5/16/2012" This is #4 in the Monkeewrench series, and a new character has been introduced here. I hope we see her again. I don't know where PJ Tracy comes up with their ideas, but they do have ideas and a very surprising and entertaining story, if you can glide over the language. "
— Janet, 3/21/2012" Monkeewrench #4 "
— Ellen, 1/17/2012" Takes a while to get going, but a great ending! "
— Bethany, 9/21/2011" Probably my favorite! "
— Chris, 4/7/2011" Stayed up too late because I had to finish it, just like the previous book in the series, and, actually, the two before that. "
— Magda, 2/9/2011" Didn't like this as much as the others in the series. The Monkeewrench gang were hardly in it. "
— Rita, 1/21/2011" It was OK. It reminded me alot of the US Columbo programme from the 1970's. "
— Jonathan, 12/19/2010" This is #4 in the Monkeewrench series, and a new character has been introduced here. I hope we see her again. I don't know where PJ Tracy comes up with their ideas, but they do have ideas and a very surprising and entertaining story, if you can glide over the language. "
— Janet, 12/18/2010" Read the entire book on two airplane flights. I like the new character, Iris. "
— Vickie, 12/6/2010" This had a really good storyline. I was of kind of rooting for the killers. "
— Kriscrowe, 11/29/2010" another great story by mother daughter team!! "
— Heather, 11/13/2010" Entertaining...not quite as good as the first book in the Monkeewrench series. "
— Donna, 11/8/2010" Really complex story that doesn't show until the end. Makes you think about the issue of domestic violence and what can be done about it. "
