" My best friend Phil loves Carre and gave me this book...and I have to say I was hooked! It snowed over 10 inches the day I read this book in December '08 and I barely noticed the snow I was so engrossed in this Cold War Spy Novel. And he just gave me 3 more Carre novels I am much looking forward to read! "

" Tightly written, a fair amount of realistic spy craft, complex plotting, lots of moral doubt and a healthy dose of a fat blokes late-middle aged existential angst. That's probably not selling it to you but it's great, honest. "

" Le Carre is the master! "
-

Kenny | 1/27/2014
" 2nd best spy novel ever written. This is a low on action, high on conversation spy novel. Not a mystery, but intelligent, very well written. "
-

Roberto Castellanos | 1/27/2014
" Sin duda alguna el mejor libro de Le carre. Infinidad de personajes, relacionados unos con otros. Impresionante la trama. "
-

Salli | 1/8/2014
" Great to re-read this final "Karla" book. "
-

Frances Sawaya | 1/6/2014
" Quite satisfying conclusion to the search for Karla. Again, a tribute to civil servants who work without glory and flash. Quite cerebral spy novel! "
-

Richard | 12/29/2013
" Smiley disgraced cheated far ahead in the details where everything breathes "
-

Chris | 12/28/2013
" A book about thinking and character as opposed to "I except you to die Mr Bond". Excellent. "
-

Suzanne Macartney | 12/10/2013
" Quite enjoying Le Carre. Last of the cold ward spy novelists. I enjoyed the Schoolboy book a bit more but this one has a great plot structure with colorful cast of characters. And I love that it's politically deep! "
-

Peter Fletcher | 11/20/2013
" Fantastic narrative but the writing is just so excellent there are a number of paragraphs that I just have to re read again and again. "
-

Lysergius | 11/10/2013
" There is really nothing to add to all the reviews that have been written except to say that this is probably the best of the sequence... "
-

Hal | 11/3/2013
" I see they made a movie of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Sadly, Gary Oldman is just a tall and thin as Alec Guinness. I wish they'd cast a short chubby actor as Smiley. I hope he at least polishes his glasses with the fat end of his tie. "
-

Eddie | 10/8/2013
" last part of the Karla trilogy. Just superb and the miniseries was very true to the book. "
-

Fdp Erasmus | 6/19/2013
" Great read. The easiest Le Carre IMO. Fast paced, exciting conclusion to the trilogy. "
-

Parke | 11/6/2012
" An uninspired bookend to an otherwise great trilogy. "
-

Bruce | 10/29/2012
" Basically a clever concoction to give Smiley's fans a chance to enjoy the old guy's final, if unlikely, triumph over his arch nemesis, "Smiley's People" is in the guilty pleasure division of Le Carre novels. "
-

Hugh | 5/11/2012
" A fine book, but I thought the end of Karla was disappointing. In Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy, Smiley predicts that Karla's undoing will be his extremism. Instead, it proves to be his love for his daughter. I thought it was an uncharacteristic ending. "
-

Barry Bridges | 10/21/2011
" If I could have rated it 4.5 I would have. A much better book than both Tinker and Honourable that captivates and keeps the atmosphere throughout. A satisfying conclusion to George's story. "
-

Michele | 6/23/2011
" Finished this two days ago, but forgot to update. Oops! "
-

Lois | 4/18/2011
" George Smiley... what more do you need to know. Another superb tale by the master story teller "
-

Mary Alice | 12/18/2010
" Smiley's last stand. With the people he worked with during the cold war. A fitting successor to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. "
-

Michael | 10/18/2010
" Satisfying, complex, conclusion of Smiley's hunt for Karla "
-

Sluggish Neko | 7/28/2010
" This felt more of a sequel to "Tinker, Tailor..." than "The Honourable Schoolboy". The focus is back on Smiley as he quietly and slowly plays his final hand against Karla. "
-

Geoffrey | 6/8/2010
" Almost as good as TTS, but not quite. "
