New York Times bestselling author of the Shopaholic series Sophia Kinsella delivers another fabulously fun tale writing under Madeleine Wickham. Sleeping Arrangements tells the story of two families who are "accidentally" double-booked at the same lavish Spanish villa of a mutual friend. Chloe needs a holiday. She's sick of making wedding dresses, her partner Philip has troubles at work, and the whole family wants a break. Her wealthy friend Gerard has offered the loan of his luxury villa in Spain--perfect. Hugh is not a happy man. His immaculate wife Amanda seems more interested in her new kitchen than in him, and he works so hard to pay for it, he barely has time for his children. Maybe he'll have a chance to bond with them on holiday. His old friend Gerard has lent them a luxury villa in Spain--perfect. Both families arrive at the villa and realize the awful truth--Gerard has double-booked. What no one else realizes is that Chloe and Hugh have a history; and as tensions rise within the two families, old passions resurface. It seems that Gerard's 'accidental' double booking may not be an accident after all...

"This is the first book I have read under Sophie Kinsella's real name. I found this book tricky to get into but by the end I loved it and didnt want it to end. If you like Sophie Kinsella, you are bound to like these books aswell. "
— Hayley (4 out of 5 stars)
“Award winning actress Katherine Kellgren's reading is light-hearted, witty, wise, and spot on. Her accents, even the Australian nanny, are amazing; her pacing perfect. Fun listening.
— SoundLibrary.comWickham creates memorable characters who are as unpredictable and multifaceted as they are stylish. Jolly fun.
— Publishers Weekly on The GatecrasherWickham has a shrewdly malicious touch with her characters.
— The Atlantic Monthly on The Gatecrasher" It was a easy read, but I was a little dissapointed in the end :( "
— Melissa, 2/18/2014" As a fan of Sophie Kinsella/Madeleine Wickham, I was very disappointed in this book. It was far below her other books in plot and her characters were not likeable. "
— Renee, 2/17/2014" Eh, this didn't really do it for me. Characters were all awful people and it was hard to like any of them. And the plot was ridiculous even for this type of story. Glad I borrowed from a friend and that I spent zero money on it. At least it was a quick read to help me catch up on my reading challenge goal. "
— Judith, 2/8/2014" I've enjoyed most of sophie kinsella's books but this one was not one of my favorites. The characters were not very sympathetic or likeable although I did like the ending. "
— Miranda, 2/1/2014" Je merkt Kinsella/Wickham hier nog aan het begin van haar carriere zit. "
— Domiçay, 1/21/2014" Not bad chic lit, and better than some of her Shopaholic books. It's a great light read for days when you're not in the mood for anything too heavy. I recommend a nice glass of white wine with it. "
— Angelic, 1/20/2014" Bit of a washout. I was expecting much more from this book. I will force myself to read to the end of the book but to be honest don't really care enough about any of the characters. "
— Helen, 1/18/2014" Pretty lame characters, somewhat ridiculous story. Unrealistic. Odd, because I love her books under the Sophie Kinsela name. Apparently her alter ego is a better writer. "
— Jennifer, 12/27/2013" some teen sex and extra marital but it was fun and easy to read. There was a big mixup and confusion but everything worked out in the end. "
— Celeste, 12/20/2013" Ok book but definitely not my favorite book by the author. To me the story was lacking. I'm not sure what exactly but I guess it wasn't as entertaining as some of her other books. "
— Amber, 12/19/2013" Certainly not her best book, possibly her worst. "
— Liz, 12/17/2013" smut with a little bit of weed mixed in at the end... weird :) "
— Kacie, 11/19/2013" I don't think that the Madeline Wickham books flow nearly as well as the Sophie Kinsella books. Sleeping Arrangements plays more like a mediocre movie that never really comes together. I liked it enough to finish it, but that's about it. "
— Marcie, 11/14/2013" I found myself skimming passages more than reading just so I could get to the interesting parts. This was not my favorite book by this author as she attempts to be more serious and heavy than when she writes as Sophie Kinsella. "
— Ja'nai, 11/3/2013" ok but still cannt beat the shopaholic series:) "
— Rehan, 7/22/2013" Good for a mindless summer read, but I wasn't 100% crazy about how the book ended. It left things a little bit flat for me. "
— Krisan, 5/22/2013" As much as I love Sophie, I didn't really like this book too much. Some stuff were unnecessary, and the ending was just...whack. "
— Cherubim, 1/6/2013" Boring... not sure why I read this "
— Stephanie, 9/13/2012" It was okay... Easy to read like all Sophie Kinsella books, yet I really didn't like the main characters and one certain event all that much. "
— Cheryl, 7/10/2012" it had a unique story but a weird one and awful because the ending was so bad. it was an unsolved ending story and for me it's very bad. "
— Marcel, 2/27/2012" pure entertainment and light content what I call an "in betweener" book. "
— Wendy, 2/4/2012" Not really a book I would usually read, but very easy book. Been a week and I'm almost finished. A good read if you want something...'nice' to read that doesn't involve too much brain work "
— Katherine, 12/21/2011" Dumb, but goes by quickly. "
— Adele, 12/4/2011" BORING. I think I only read it because I read all of Madeline Wickham's other books (aka Sophie Kinsella), and just wanted to be able to check it off the list. Definitely her worst. "
— Christine, 5/26/2011" Sophie Kinsella wrote this under this name. Good, quick, fun read! "
— Dbarkla, 5/22/2011" This book was alright. The situation the writer created for the characters was unique. I liked that the characters had a past with each other. I just felt that this book was bland. "
— Bonnie, 5/20/2011" A bit boring and slow. I much prefer her writing as Sophie Kinsella. "
— Brittany, 5/13/2011" Dumb - total waste of time. Her other books are MUCH better. "
— Rachel, 5/12/2011" An enjoyable but predictable read.

After reading Mini Shopaholic, this book has restored my faith in Sophie Kinsella. The characters were mostly believable and likable.

Not a bad read. "
— Emma, 5/3/2011" Typical Sophie Kensella - light, mindless, perfect summer read. "
