Publisher Description

London is under attack. People are dead. Many more lives hang in the balance as a group of highly trained gunmen storm the historic Stanhope Hotel on Park Lane. The gunmen have given the government just five hours to meet their demands before they blow up the building. Shots ring out. Some guests panic. Others text their loved ones.

Still more try to escape. All are united by one thing: fear for their lives. All - except one man who has information so dangerous that it must be kept safe - at any price. Darkness falls. The gunmen become increasingly violent. One question is in everybody's minds. Will they survive the night?

"'Siege' was a truly awesome thriller (in the mayhem & explosions sense of the word) that took a generic premise and turned it into a first-class thriller. The book took place over a tense few hours as terrorists, police, civilians and a surprised hit-man played a tense cat-and-mouse game inside a large London hotel. Simon Kernick not only kept the plot moving fast throughout, but deftly kept the logistics (dozens of characters, multiple locations and various sub-plots) from slowing the thrilling ride to the finish. I had never heard of Simon Kernick before picking thriller up at the library, but now I can't wait to read his next book."

" Another gripping book by Mr Kernick. Could not put it down !! I wasn't sure how a hotel siege would fill a whole book but loved the characters and their differing lives. "

" Simon Kernick writes some terrific thrillers and this is no exception. A group of terrorists and mercenaries plan a Mumbai style attack on a London hotel. The pace is relentless, as is the body count. It's fast it's furious and a pleasure to lose yourself in a book for a day. "

" Like his last novel I read it pulled me in and it flew passed I'm a blur. Kernick's style of short punchy chapters leaves you no time to breathe. I was hooked from the very start. Brilliant read. "

" Short chapters make this a compelling, page turning read. Be prepared to read into the early hours and not put down until you have finished. Excellent mix of suspense and action, and probably slightly less of a boyish read than the rest of the series. Highly recommend. "

" A fast paced thriller that was a page turner with a nice twist in the middle ... personally i liked Fox & thought there could be future stories about his character ... However, i did think the ending felt rather rushed but the build up was good & i'd finished it within a couple of day's. "
