As the daughter of the Autarch's Master Maskmaker, she had a clearly defined future: a quiet, ordered life in the capital, making Masks with her father and doing work important to the ruling Autarch. But when her Mask, specially made by her own father, cracked and fell to pieces during her Masking ceremony, Mara was exiled from everything she once knew. Now she has become part of an underground rebellion, rejecting the unjust rules of a Masked society. But Mara has yet to discover just how horrifying her power can be.. Download and start listening now!

About the Author

E.C. Blake was born in New Mexico, “Land of Enchantment,” and the state’s nickname seems to have rubbed off. He has worked as: a newspaper reporter and an editorial cartoonist, a magazine editor, a writing instructor, and a professional actor. Under another name, he has written more than thirty works of nonfiction, ranging from biographies to history books. But his first love has always been fantasy. He lives in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, with his wife and a daughter whose favorite stories all involve “sword-fighting princesses.”
