Publisher Description

The killer becomes the hunted. She was gagged. Violated. Tortured. Nailing the killer is priority number one and only the best will do-that means Frank Quinn. And Quinn wouldn't want it any other way. Because he recognizes the victim. Years ago, as a homicide detective, he saved her young life. Now the hunt is on, and deep in his gut, Quinn welcomes it. He knows he's seeing the work of a truly twisted serial killer. Except it's not the ritual weapon that makes this killer so disturbing. It's who he kills-and how he makes them suffer…

"I quite enjoy serial killer plots, and although the protagonist in this one was a bit gruesome, the book stands up well to others in the genre. It's well detailed, both in the plot and characters, and although there sometimes seems a bit too much happening with sub-plots, twists and dead-ends, it all links up well and adds depth and suspense to the story. There are a few things that stop if from being really great, there doesn't seem any great urgency to track down the killer, and there's a lot of detail given to some elements of the crimes that are just forgotten about by the end of the book, but that apart, very enjoyable."

" Great detective thriller with an effective format of converging plots. Strong characters like Frank Quinn, Pearl, Fedderman, Sherif Wayne Westerly,etc....chilling accounts of the "serial" murders that made you want to finish the book and "make sure the sadistic bastard was caught" "

" This is one of the longest books I've read in a while but I could not put it down. The suspense of it all and how everything came together for Quinn and his team was very entertaining and interested. I loved how it went back to the source of everything. Great job! "

" I was on a cruise, so had LOTS of time to read. And I read this one in one day. I probably would have given it five stars if I just hadn't read another book by John Lutz two days before. But if you like serial killers then he is your author! "
