Who will be the last man standing? New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander's delicious series about four men desperately trying to avoid matrimony continues . . .

Lady Cordelia Bannister simply cannot marry a man she has not chosen herself, no matter what her father decrees. So, pretending to be her own companion, she decides to seek out information about her intended by meeting with his secretary—a man who soon beguiles her. But Lady Cordelia doesn't know the truth—the man she can't resist is really her intended, Daniel Sinclair.

Daniel has nearly won the wager he made with three of London's most eligible bachelors. While two of his compatriots have surrendered to the shackles of marriage, he's remained free to woo any woman he chooses. Yet duty forces him to consider Lady Cordelia—and determined to escape honor intact, he continues the masquerade he started.

Each find the other completely irresistible, but when they uncover their mutual mistaken identities, Daniel and Cordelia must make the most important choice of all . . .

Listener Opinions

" While I loathe books whose whole plot is based on both characters keeping a stupid secret from each other that keeps them away from each other, this was really the best version of that plot I've ever read. And it was cute. I probably won't read any more Victoria Alexander - all her books have ranked a solid "meh" on my scale - but of her books I've read, this was definitely the best. "

" It was exactly what I was looking for - mindless fluff. The storyline was a bit predictable, and the characters a bit cliche. But after having read several books in a row of a serious or dark tone, the light heartedness of this book was enjoyable. "

" 4.5 Stars. My second Victoria Alexander book. I really enjoyed this one. Her trademark lively dialogue was laugh-out-loud funny in many places. A very cute story of mistaken identifies. The secondary characters really added to the story. Nice book! "

" I noticed a pattern while reading these books in the Last Man Standing series: slow moving in the beginning then it picks up speed about halfway through and by the time I'm done I'm so delighted I can't wait to read the next one. In Book 3, there was more anticipation for excitement what with the characters playing cat and mouse with THEIR characters. I'm enjoying this series and know that I will be disappointed when the last book is read.... "

" More like 1 -1/2 stars as it threatened to be a DNF for me a couple of times. Cordelia was self-centred and manipuative yet still likeable, but Daniel came across as a bit of an ass. Not Ms Alexander's best - more like flat lemonade than her usual frothy, sparkling champagne. "

" The way the two main characters keep digging themselves holes with their deception becomes quite amusing. The ending was a bit rushed for my personal satisfaction, but it was tolerable. I like the amusing repartee between the characters. "
