When a series of attacks against women on her beat are blown off by hardened detectives, Boston police sergeant Traci Ross launches her own investigation. Her instincts tell her something is different about the crimes. Her lieutenant believes otherwise.
Soon, police departments in other large northeast cities are encountering an outbreak of similar attacks. After usual suppression tactics don’t work, a task force of detectives from the affected cities is formed in New York to tackle the problem. Traci is sent to join them.
While still at work on the puzzling problem, Traci gets a call from her lieutenant. He wants her to break away for a few hours to track down a New York resident and question him about his connection to an urgent situation developing back in Boston.
But the simple errand turns deadly when she stumbles onto an incredible conspiracy.
