Publisher Description

School Spirit Kat’s mother is a medium, and not the kind that fits between small and large; she sees spirits and communicates with them.  And, even worse, Kat has just discovered that she can see spirits, too. Now it’s up to Kat and her best friend, Jac, to help a spirit trapped in their school cross over successfully. The question is, can they do it without having to switch schools themselves?

" a fantastic book were kat finds out that like her mother she is a medium, wile along with that theres a gost roaming around her school and its her job to help her cross over to the spirit world. "

" The main character, whose mother is a medium, discovers on her 13th birthday that she too can see dead people. She is also trying to navigate the clicks at her new school. Her new best (and only) friend is a cello playing phenom, so both are misfits with special talents they must come to terms with and learn to accept. The writing has such strong voice. The author through her characters takes a poke at the Bible; especially considering this is a 4-6th grade book, seems heavy on agenda. A little too strong for my taste, but the story was engaging and characters well crafted. This is one of the nominees for Mark Twain Award. "

" This was a fun story. It was a little predictable, but I think the kids will definitely enjoy it. You have the ghost story aspect, the adventure/mystery aspect and the coming of age aspect. What's not to like? Probably more girls than guys will pick this up. This is a 2010-11 Missouri Mark Twain Award nominee. "

" The most stupid book ever. all she wanted to do is be popular for the first third of the book. It was horrible. The only part of the storyline that i liked was the fact that the author actually put something interesting, which is the fact that she can talk to and see ghosts. "

" To be accepting of who you are. Some people have special talents, and we should not be cruel to them because of aforementioned talent. We should embrace them, and be a friend. This was admittedly a Junior High book, but it was really cute and really good. Thanks Liz! "
