School Spirit Kat’s mother is a medium, and not the kind that fits between small and large; she sees spirits and communicates with them. And, even worse, Kat has just discovered that she can see spirits, too. Now it’s up to Kat and her best friend, Jac, to help a spirit trapped in their school cross over successfully. The question is, can they do it without having to switch schools themselves?

"Loved this book on cd. Kat's mother is a medium and one day she discovers that she has the gift as well. Kat isn't so sure that she wants the gift though. Kat and Jac, her friend, find a spirit that is trapped in the school they attend. Can Kat figure out why she is still there?"

" a fantastic book were kat finds out that like her mother she is a medium, wile along with that theres a gost roaming around her school and its her job to help her cross over to the spirit world. "
— Raven, 2/17/2014" The main character, whose mother is a medium, discovers on her 13th birthday that she too can see dead people. She is also trying to navigate the clicks at her new school. Her new best (and only) friend is a cello playing phenom, so both are misfits with special talents they must come to terms with and learn to accept. The writing has such strong voice. The author through her characters takes a poke at the Bible; especially considering this is a 4-6th grade book, seems heavy on agenda. A little too strong for my taste, but the story was engaging and characters well crafted. This is one of the nominees for Mark Twain Award. "
— Nancy, 2/16/2014" Very cute book. Great for children and adolescents to read. "
— Colleen, 2/15/2014" Cute, and some of it really made me laugh :) "
— Angel, 2/5/2014" This was a fun story. It was a little predictable, but I think the kids will definitely enjoy it. You have the ghost story aspect, the adventure/mystery aspect and the coming of age aspect. What's not to like? Probably more girls than guys will pick this up. This is a 2010-11 Missouri Mark Twain Award nominee. "
— Angie, 1/31/2014" it was an awesome book!!!!! it rocked my world and was amazing "
— Buggyboo, 1/30/2014" Entertaining enough. It was in the teen section, but I think that was being generous. "
— Kristin, 1/28/2014" Kind of fun - though it feels like a clone of Gilda Joyce. "
— Cori, 1/16/2014" The most stupid book ever. all she wanted to do is be popular for the first third of the book. It was horrible. The only part of the storyline that i liked was the fact that the author actually put something interesting, which is the fact that she can talk to and see ghosts. "
— Olivia, 1/15/2014" I thought it was a book that had an unique story to it. "
— Mashal, 1/9/2014" To be accepting of who you are. Some people have special talents, and we should not be cruel to them because of aforementioned talent. We should embrace them, and be a friend. This was admittedly a Junior High book, but it was really cute and really good. Thanks Liz! "
— Lexi, 12/12/2013" i loved this book it was mysterious and wonderful!!! i hope you all will read it! "
— Mackenzie, 12/3/2013" Kat's mom is a medium. (She talks to dead people.) Kat didn't think she had the gift until her 13th birthday when she started noticing people that no one else saw. Now there is a ghost in her middle school that has shown herself to Kat. Does the ghost need help? "
— Kim, 12/1/2013" classic & cool!!!!! i love the sequel "
— Melati, 11/1/2013" This book has an interesting twist on the whole paranormal premise. It's kind of like an episode of Medium from Ariel, the daughter, POV without any of the gore and violence of the show. "
— Kim, 10/28/2013" Excellent! Kat is likeable, and her relationship with her mom realistic and sweet. The supernatural elements are just spooky enough. Can't wait to recommend this! "
— Cathy, 10/14/2013" it has nice big print! "
— Leah-lynne, 9/18/2013" Very Cute! Some real world issues disguised by the supernatural! "
— Mallory, 12/20/2012" An enjoyable read, but nothing special. "
— Batsheva, 12/4/2012" The flute is awesome. "
— that.one.girl.elaine, 9/22/2012" Not awesome, but good. Kind of an odd story..not sure if I liked it or not "
— Sabrina, 8/30/2012" This was a real fun read. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. A basically normal story about the life of a seventh grade girl with a fun twist to make it a not so normal story. Enjoyable characters and an enjoyable plot. I can't wait to read more of this series. "
— Joseph, 8/22/2012" Main character finds out that she is a medium like her eccentric mother. She makes a friend at school and together they solve a mystery of a ghost who is haunting the school. "
— Lea, 1/6/2012" AMAZING she meets a new girl at school AND a new ghost and has to help her passover!! AWESOME BOOK!! "
— Mikayla, 5/24/2011" Fun, fluffy read for the car ride home. "
— Mary, 3/22/2011" Lumayan seru, jadi keinget temenku yg seorang "medium" juga, penasaran sama hantu yg satunya. Agak terganggu dg kata "nggak" g tau ya, kok lebih nyaman dengan kata "tidak" "
— Sulis, 1/27/2011" 2010-22 Mark Twain nominee for children. A fun fantasy read for kids. It has a ghost, mean girls, and caring girls. "
— Nancy, 12/1/2010" My daughter asked me to read this, she knows I enjoy "ghost stories" I just had read the first 3 Outlander Books, so it was a quick read and a great change of pace and something we could review together. "
— Tammy, 8/12/2010" mmmm...this book was ok. it was interesting but i didn't feel myself getting really drawn into the story. "
— Jenna, 8/5/2010" A very quick, fun read, just like the rest of the series - middle school girl concerns with a supernatural twist. The setting was great - now I want to visit Montreal myself! "
