Publisher Description

Award-winning author and former schoolteacher Jonathan Friesen has a knack for crafting exciting stories teenagers want to read. Rush features 18-year-old Jake King, an adrenaline junkie who jumps at the chance to join an elite group of firefighters who rappel into wildfires. Known as the Immortals, these heroes have a habit of dying young. But Jake's sort-of girlfriend thinks there's more to the Immortals' high death rate than bad luck. "The up-tempo plot keeps the story interesting, and the stunts keep the reader on the edge of their seats."-VOYA

"This story is primarily aimed at older teen and young adult males. A fast action tale, I enjoyed the scenes about forest fire fighting. "

" Jerk, California it was not (alas!) but gosh, I loved that one, so...maybe a decent recommendation for adrenaline junkies & those who don't mind the brotherhood-to-the-death mentality thing. "

" Wanted to love it--it's about wildfire fighters after all. But I didn't love the main character or the best friend/love interest. Might have liked it better if I myself were an adrenaline junkie like the main character. "
