Dispatched by the President to report on the state of troubled Kosovo, his trusted agent Blake Johnson runs into a military man there named Harry Miller, who has the same task from the British Prime Minister. They band together just in time to stop a Russian officer from torching a mosque -- or rather, Miller stops him, with a bullet to the forehead. This action will have considerable consequences, not only for Miller and Johnson, and their associates, including Britain's Sean Dillon, but for a great many people, all the way to the top of the governments of the United States, Britain, and Russia. Death begets death, and revenge leads only to revenge, and before the chain reaction of events is done, from Kosovo to London to Beirut to Ireland to Moscow . . . there will be plenty of both. Filled with all the ingredients that have made him justly admired, Rough Justice is further proof that, in the words of the Associated Press, "When it comes to thriller writers, one name stands well above the crowd -- Jack Higgins."

"I have read Higgins on and off for years. This was one of his better ones. The protagonists are all old "friends" (with friends like this you really don't need any enemies.) The villains are all believable and credible. The plot ran true and it was a great read."
— Joyce (4 out of 5 stars)
" This book started out slowly but did pick up about halfway through. As with many of Higgins books this one had Sean Dillon, former IRA assassin now British agent as one of the main characters. There is international intrigue and a bit of a love story. It was interesting but to me a lot of Higgins books are pretty similar.... "
— Carrol, 2/18/2014" I haven't read Jack Higgins for many years. This book was a little more graphic than I remember his earlier ones. Good story line that kept my interest but there were quite a few characters to keep track of-many of which were mentioned only briefly. "
— Miriam, 2/9/2014" Read this while on a series of flights across the country. The guy in front of me left it on his seat. Not a great read by any stretch, but it contained enough action and interest to fill the time on the plane and the layovers in between. Shallow characters and unrealistic plot development abound. "
— Tim, 2/7/2014" Not great,just fair. "
— Bob, 2/6/2014" Fantastic Book, Sean Dillon at his best. Jack Higgins goes out of his way to build a suspence that keeps you from putting this book down. "
— J.W., 2/2/2014" I didn't actually finish reading this one. I know Higgins is a good writers, he delivers very detailed, fast - paced stories, yet I just can't get through most of his books. Guess I will keep trying though. "
— Sylwia, 2/1/2014" I have almost always enjoyed the adventure/spy novels written by Jack Higgins, but there was a disappointment to this - all action and little delving into motivations. It really did hinge upon one having read many of his previous novels to create a deeper perspective of the main characters. "
— Jack, 1/26/2014" Typical thriller. Not a lot of plot twists. Was set in the last couple years so that helped. "
— Jim, 1/20/2014" You just can't beat Jack Higgins. The good guys always win, although they may endure some casualties. In this one, the Russians are involved. Even Putin makes an appearance. "
— Mary, 1/10/2014" This is the first novel i read for Jack Higgins, and he seems to know well his way around suspence, and good storry telling. I would love to read more of his stories "
— Abdelmoumen, 1/5/2014" A book to read on the airplane if you like action novels. A bit formulaic and over the top in action but engrossing and easy to read. "
— John, 1/3/2014" Trying to tie in too many characters from previous books. "
— Sharon, 12/20/2013" probably 3 1/2 stars. easy read with many interesting characters. the book doesn't have a traditional plot line, meaning the story is kind of ongoing. "
— Money1443, 11/19/2013" Pretty good read, a little slow at times, but decent character development. Pretty predictable ending made it an OK read hence the three stars. "
— Kevin, 11/16/2013" First book I read by Higgins. It was okay, good mystery, lots of action, not sure I like it as well as others.. "
— Richard, 10/2/2013" As always - i love jack higgins! "
— Erica, 8/10/2013" I have not read a Higgins in years, and after this one, I remember why! The story is flat and just words on a page - mind, I sat through the whole story, in amazed wonder as to what was going to come next! "
— Weepingbeauty, 7/14/2013" I had trouble following this one. "
— Pamela, 6/25/2013" page-turning spy vs. spy escape "
— Bobbie, 4/10/2013" Dillon, death and dames. Nuff said. "
— Mark, 4/6/2013" Another good book by Higgins "
— Tim, 11/15/2012" Well crafted international thriller involving U.S., British and Russian intelligence malefactors. "
— DWGibb, 8/30/2012" The introduction of Harry Miller was refreshing. "
— Bill, 4/2/2012" Good story lines as usual, Jack has a wonderful imagination and terse prose. The only thing that bugs me about his writing, is that they are all to a formula and there is so little depth to anything. He writes as few words as possible, very similar to James Patterson his American cousin. "
— Alan, 10/23/2011" I really like Higgins and I read them all - this is typical Higgins - a little formulaic, but still a good read "
— Linda, 10/1/2011" Blake Miller is sent to Kosovo to invesigate for the president. He runs into Henry Miller doing the same for the Brit Prime Minister. "

— Frank, 4/4/2011" The introduction of Harry Miller was refreshing. "
