"The author was not an amazing writer, but it's passable enough to keep you turning the pages. It's not just a horror story about a woman carrying Satan's son but a look at a unique period in time when this was a real fear among people. I also loved the snapshot of life in New York in the 60s."

" Very captivating and thrilling story but overall the reading performance is what stands out here! Wish there would be more audiobooks read by Mia Farrow on here, she is a gem! "
— Maria, 12/6/2023" My personal favorite in classic horror. I have read it twice. Love the darkness. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what the apartment people were going to do to poor Rosemary next.. Great for a rainy day. "
— Tara, 2/18/2014" I remember seeing the film several times when I was growing up. I decided to read the book and enjoyed it as I did watching it. "
— Sofia, 2/17/2014" The book is suspenseful and good at points, but some of Rosemary's decisions are naive and not very believable especially as they occur in the dog eat dog world of new york city, which mars the overall force of the book. As if someone is going to wear a horrible smelling 'lucky charm' as a necklace, and drink some mystery herbal shake for months from some odd neighbors that live up stairs. Stuff like that. Actually the baby is more believable. "
— Katsumi, 2/9/2014" Pretty fun and quick to read. This is probably not true if you're pregnant. "
— Kris, 1/30/2014" Just finished Rosemary's Baby. the book just gives me the chills...the struggle between a mothers instinctive love for their baby...and knowing that that baby is Satan's son. It really scares me that I fell asleep on the book yesterday morning. :/ "
— Anushka, 1/24/2014" Wow. A whole lot of development for not a lot of horror. The lights do not need to be left on. It will be fine. There is no actual hero/heroine, so maybe that's the horror of it all. "
— Jess, 1/18/2014" woooah! "
— Niki, 1/18/2014" Hyped up beyond reason, this book fulfilled all my expectations. Furthermore, it ended much better and acceptably than I expected it to. Instead of leaving with a bad taste in my mouth, like I expected, I felt good about my life. "
— Margo, 1/13/2014" read many years ago but could not put it down. one of the few books I read in a day. "
— Heidi, 12/24/2013" this is a fabulous book. no a scary as most might think. a must read. "
— Rick, 12/24/2013" I liked the movie better. "
— Sojyung, 12/22/2013" An inspiration to decades of religious horror tales to come. Not his best work, but one of my favorites as it was the first of Levin's novels I read. "
— Erik, 11/1/2013" worth reading . it was better than the movie though it worth seeing also. "
— Mark, 9/27/2013" Very slow but well written. The ending was trash. My 11 year old son could have conceived a better ending. "
— Ryan, 8/14/2013" I was very confused by the ending of Rosemary's Baby. In fact, it almost seemed anti-climatic. "
— Chris, 3/31/2013" Lots of creepy fun. And you can't say that Ira Levin doesn't give you any clues. For those who've seen the movie or know the plot, they are staring you in the face. But it's great for the rare unknowing reader who stumbles upon the book. "
— Ming, 12/17/2012" Even better--certainly funnier--than The Stepford Wives. And, similarly, even though I've already seen the movie (and who doesn't know what's really wrong with Rosemary's little Andrew-or-Susan?), the suspense was there. "
— Alwa, 9/29/2012" Maybe not the worst book I've read, but close. "
— Corey, 4/12/2012" it wasn't as scary as I'd thought it would be. "
— Barb, 12/5/2011" This book is a page-turner. I couldn't put it down. "
— Tina, 10/3/2011" kind of brilliant. creepy, subtly funny...ending left me pondering for a while "
— Lindsey, 8/3/2011" Made me act coolly to my new, wonderful, horse loving neighbours. Now, that's a feat. "
— Goele, 5/19/2011" I always wish that in the end the mother had taken the baby into a church and baptized him. "
— Bonnie, 5/12/2011" What a weird book. Now I want to see the movie. "
— Anya, 5/2/2011" At the time of reading this book, I was eighteen and freaked out by cults/secret societies and being controlled by them. "
— Rosalía, 4/19/2011" The ending was sort of a letdown, but everything leading up to it was scary.<br/>I was thinking she'd throw the baby out the window and jump after him. I don't really understand her sudden change of mind, from killing him and herself to becoming a mother to him. "
— Vicki, 4/11/2011" If you like horror, this and The Exorcist are the best I have read. "
— Walter, 3/23/2011" This was a spooky book. "
— Wendy, 3/20/2011" A real creepy book and of course it was better than the movie. I'll have to read the sequel sometime. "
— Sara, 3/17/2011" El primer libro que leí. :D "
— Einnar, 3/13/2011" i saw the movie before i read the book...the movie was done to the "T" of the book...probably the only book that was made into a movie I've seen that was exact page for page...of course I will take that sweet apartment in the Dakota/The Bramford any day!! "
— Lisa, 3/11/2011" I lovedlovedloved it and will definitely re-read it AND watch the DVD again. "
— Rachel, 3/7/2011" Love the book, love the movie, love love love. Don't usually go for horror books, but this is extremely well written and terrifying. Read it in french, would like to read it in english as well. "
