Publisher Description

Michael must save his mother—and protect his powers—in the electric sequel to the #1 New York Times bestselling Michael Vey, from Richard Paul Evans.

Michael was born with special electrical powers—and he’s not the only one. His friend Taylor has them too, and so do other kids around the world. With Michael’s friend Ostin, a techno-genius, they form the Electroclan, an alliance meant to protect them from a powerful group, the growing Order of Elgen, who are out to destroy them. The leader of the Elgen, Dr. Hatch, has kidnapped Michael’s mother, and time is running out.

After narrowly escaping an Elgen trap, Ostin’s discovery of bizarre “rat fires” in South America leads the gang to the jungles of Peru, where the Electroclan meets new, powerful foes and faces their greatest challenge yet as Michael learns the extent of the Elgen’s rise in power—and the truth of their plan to “restructure” the world.

"I thought it was a great book. In some spots it is kind of suspenseful, but I like those parts. The ending is really dumb because he just gets captured again. When I was reading I kind of stopped so I don't know exactly everything. I would recommend this book to everyone about 12 and up. I don't know why I say 12 and up but it seems reasonable."

" This book is continuing perfectly in the flow of the first book. The electric children are the good as Hatch n the Elgens are the bad. You can visualize everything that is being talked about. Each new character that is introduced is unique in their abilities as electric children Definite Read "

" This was a great book. Would say read the first one so you will know what is going on with the people in the story. I sure hope there is another book coming soon. If so I can't wait to read it. "

" A decent and clean read for teens. The story line is good and entertaining. I think this is one of the better young adult authors out there. I just wish there was a bit more depth and more superior writing like many of the classics. I do recommend it although it does not go on my classics list. "

" This book was amazing. The characters were very well formed, they had individual personalities, and they seemed very real overall. The plot and mystery of the 'Elgen' was revealed at a perfect pace. The cliff-hanger ending made it so I almost died when I learned that there was no third book out yet. "

" I dont think Ive ever hated a protagonist more than Dr. Hatch. So narcissistic and pretty much a modern-day Caligula. However, Michael and friends(and Mom) triumphs once again. Ended in a major cliffhanger. Need some info on the 3rd book :P. 4 outta 5. "

" Second book in the Michael Vey series and I was pleased. The characters are even more developed, but not for children. Nothing morally objectionable, but it is pretty graphic in explaining the brainwashing Dr. Hatch performs. Huge cliffhanger, though.... "

" My rating for the first in the series was harsh; this is generous. I liked this one better than the first. Evans kept it fresh thru to the end. My 9-yr. old son loooved the book and we read it simultaneously so that may have contributed to my liking it more too... "
