"This was the very first book by Laymon that I'd ever read. Instantly I was hooked, I just couldn't put the book down. Laymon has a way of keeping you on your toes."

" AS usual with Laymon, I found this book gorey, horrific and down right fun to read! Laymon's books are like watching a cheesy B horror flick; one of my all-time favorite pasttimes...yeah, you need a vivid imagination and a suspension of reality to get 'sucked in', but boy oh boy, is it worth it! " Being one of my top 5 all-time authors, this Richard Laymon book isn't one of his better ones. In fact, it ranks among his worst... which is actually better than most other horror authors. However, the villain is not very interesting and the ending is very rushed. If you want classic Laymon that is currently available in stores, try IN THE DARK or ISLAND. The other thing that bothered me is the copy editing. This book has been re-released numerous times so there is no reason for all the spelling errors. This isn't Richard Laymon's fault. The guys over at Leisure Books shouldn't be giving this material to the interns to edit. "

" This book was so mortifiying that I could barely put it down. I loved it for that fact. Laymon is positively one of the most gruisome writters I have read. "

" Never heard of this author before coming across a tribute page mourning his passing. Thought I would give him a try. This seems like a pretty juvenile book-simply written with an extremely high gross out factor. Not one of my faves. Will wait awile before I give Mr. Laymon another chance. RIP sir. "

" Creepy and disturbing. This is not as wild and crazy as some of Layman's very best, but it is still a satisfying read. Nice modern perverse take on Frankenstein. "

" The first Laymon book I read (loaned from my now sister-in-law), I enjoyed this enough to track down more of the same. Written in that golden period when he wasn't a) trying to tell the story at the speed of sound and b) wasn't trying to make each novel a doorstop. "

" This is Laymon at his most fun. The book is just so over-the-top and done in tongue and cheek. Not his best book, but my favorite. "
