Publisher Description

Melissa Wareham always wanted to work with dogs. After failing her biology O-level she realised she'd have to start at the bottom, cleaning out kennels at Battersea Dogs Home. From frail old men looking for a four-legged companion to famous folk who've lost their favourite hound, it seemed that at some point everyone passes through Battersea's doors. Amongst the clamour of thousands of lost pets crying Rescue Me! and the noise of the railway lines above, Melissa found she had come home.

The first dog Melissa fell for was Tulip, a sweet, elderly and somewhat dotty mongrel who decided a solo bus ride into the West End might be fun. Next up was Roscoe: Found by the ambulance team with his dead owner, he is rehabilitated with a little help from his master's hat. And then - many, many dogs later - there is Gus. With his owner in jail, Melissa finally finds the dog she is to take home as her own. Heart-warming and compulsively readable, Rescue Me is Melissa's memoir of her 15 years at Britain's most-loved dogs' home.

"Jordon and Devon's past makes it hard for them to move on. I do like them as a couple after everything they've been through, but i just don't like the fact that Jordon continuously cheats on his girlfriend, Samara. However I was glad he ended it as soon as possible with Samara. There's never a reason to cheat. Although it was was full of angst, dramatic events and sorrow at the beginning I like the way it ends. It's definitely worthwhile and I'll be reading the rest of the series. Especially since Noah and Samara are the main characters in the second one."

" I wanted to like this book so much more than I actually did. I just found the relationship between Jordan and Eden to be so volatile, full of lies and doubt, and it didn't strike me as even slightly romantic until the very end. It was hard to read for me, maybe because Eden was soooo damaged. I like where the book ended up, and I like the two characters introduced for the next book. I will definitely continue with the series and hope that their relationship is a little more appealing than this one. "

" This books had all the elements to be a great story. The problem was Jordan he was a bit of a-hole, his treatment of Devon is cruel. The first time I could forgive but the second time was difficult for me to forgive...... he did not learn his lesson. "

" Totally loved the twists and turns of this novel. It was truly actions packed and suspenseful. I must admit that at times the characters frustrated me in their lack of communication and thought. Yet, overall it was a great book. On to the 2nd book! "

" really liked it. According to me, i think the best part was that CR got the blend of emotions, suspense and the romance perfectly. it was the kind of book that will definitely make you want to read the whole series. "

" Not a light read by any means - but a very good story. More suspense than romance but enough of a character connection to keep my interest and make me want to read the next book in the series :) "

" I enjoyed the suspense bit of the book but the couple completely threw me off the romance with how they kept on jumping to conclusions. Again and again. Jumping the gun! Perfect example. "

" the first book in the LAST CHANCE RESCUE series, and a decent start to it! i do question why the heroine's mom hated her so much, as that was never really addressed. and this book had its share of big misunderstandings. "

" This was my first book from this author and while I have 2 more of the series, I don't think I'll reach for them soon! The story wasn't bad but really not grabbing/holding my attention too much, overall rather predictable.. "
