Publisher Description

This series of tales was compiled during the recent pandemic lockdown and they include colourful incidents in the lives of bonesetters, matchmakers, youthful lovers, newcomers from beyond the mountains, a reformed villain’s wedding, celebrated by the whole community for days thereafter, and lots more. This is the second volume and has been written once more in a lyrical language similar to that of past storytellers such as Mark Twain - enthralling and unbelievable at times. Reflections should certainly appeal to those not only with an interest in Ireland’s social history but to fans of the author’s earlier novels. "An effortless evocation of an almost-forgotten world...wonderfully personable narration and endlessly charming characterisation." (Addison & Cole)

About Tony Robinson

Tony Robinson is an actor and audiobook narrator and actor whose first professional appearance was at the age of thirteen in the original version of the stage musical Oliver!, followed by a number of shows, films, and TV appearances as a child actor. After training at the Central School of Speech and Drama, he spent several years in rep, and worked for two years as a theater director, before moving on to the Chichester Festival Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the National Theatre. It was around this time that he made his first notable television appearance as the cerebral palsied Ernie Roberts in Horizon’s award-winning documentary Joey. Robinson came to prominence for his role as Baldrick on the BBC series Blackadder, and has been a fixture in entertainment since, hosting the long-running Time Team and the popular Worst Jobs series, and winning numerous awards as a writer of children’s television programs.
