Publisher Description

In this sixth book in the Gorean series, former earthman Tarl Cabot finds himself in the most depraved city that Gor has to offer. Port Kar is a city of robbers, brigands and men without allegiance to any cause or kingdom where the weak are quickly consumed by the strong. However, Tarl Cabot is able to flourish in the cutthroat environment of the city, for he is a powerful Tarnsman, used to having his way. He finds that there is much to learn in Port Kar, where the people are celebrated for their skill of training their voluptuous slaves into utter obedience.

"I enjoyed this book. There was the suspense of Tarl taking out a whole line of slaver ships and Tarl violating his codes. Then there was the large battle against Cos and Tyros on the Thassa. This is a well-written book and I hope that the series will continue on like this "

" The Gor books were great adventure books with some pretty repulsive "women are best as slaves" commentary. Then the commentary overtook the adventure and I stopped reading. "

" I read the first 5 of these books way back when and remember them being rousing adventure stories. 30 years on this one does not seem to have the same thrill as the ones I remember. Either this volume is not as good, or more likely, I have read a great deal of better fantasy in that time. "
