" Peter Leonard's first novel is a satisfying story with nasty bad guys and creative plot twists. "

" Didn't finish this book, made it about halfway through. There are several stories going on at the same time, which wouldn't be bad if they moved along, but all the stories were very slow unfolding. There's a whole chapter of a woman discussing her neighbors with a friend (with revelations echoing the 2005 film Elizabethtown). I assume that at some point all the stories converge, but I wasn't interested enough to stick around and find out what happened. "

" Peter Leonard, son of Elmore Leonard... that's a lot to live up to. I was afraid that I might be disappointed, but Peter delivered! This is a page-turner, well written, properly resolved! Nice piece of "Thriller!" Worth reading. I'll look for more from Mr Leonard "The younger!" "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Ginger | 1/31/2014

" An easy read, but a few of the premises made in the book were too unusual to buy into. "

  • 2 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 52 out of 5 Danfunk | 1/24/2014

" It was a quick read, but too choppy. The "bad guy" characters were far too cliche driven, and the ending was lackluster. I doubt if I'll give another of his books a shot. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Sandi | 1/18/2014

" Entertaining characters. Bad guys, stealing, lots of killing. Predictable. I really got irritated though, with the amount of typos. "

" It was a very fast read. Intriguing, suspenseful. I would say it was a great book, but it was pretty good! "

" This book kept coming up in "recommended for you". So, I decided what the hey. And I can't believe I finished it. One of the things that sticks in my mind is his overuse of, "she took another sip/poured her wine". Very unlikable characters and hopefully, unrealistic. Don't bother with this one. "

" This was a book of the month pick, and, as usual, I liked it. I thought it could have been cut a little bit short in some parts; but I guess that in overall it gives the book a good feel. It's haunting in certain places and scary real in all of them. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Bradley | 5/8/2011
