" I was really disappointed with Promised. I enjoyed the ending, but the whole rest of the story was filled with the worst decision making ever. O'Brien turned Gaia into the worst example of a leader I've ever seen. It completely ruined the experience for me. The first book was fantastic, the second was less stellar but still pretty good, and this one just completely fizzled out! "

" This is a decent ending to the trilogy. I think the first book is the best one, but the other two are good also and Promised is an ok ending to the series. Gaia finds that leadership is much more difficult than she realized as she tries to make peace with the people of the Enclave and join their communities. I really was not thrilled with the torture parts of the story and I thought that Gaia was rather stupid to allow herself to be caught more than one time. I realize that trilogies and series are all the rage now, but sometimes it may be best for an author to just write one really good book than to start out with a great book and then try to make it into a set of books that goes downhill after that. "

" part 3 continues with lots of dramatic twists and turns but just ends quietly, which lost this installment the 5th star. I agree with the review on the cover: a smart and tough series. "

" I loved this book! The characters are strong but not overly so, and there's a twist at the end that you wouldn't have guessed by reading the first two books. My favorite character in this book is totally Pyhro (sp?). The Protectorat is kinda the cliche bad guy, though. "

" Honest and riveting. An epic ending to an epic series. I wouldn't have had it end any other way. Gaia is one of the most realistic MC in a long time and her courage and honesty are evident in her struggles with decisions and the outcomes. Pure genius. "
