"I wasn't certain I would like a talking animal story, but I thoroughly enjoyed the wolves and ravens. Without giving spoilers, the ending was a bit over the top and is what prevented me from giving it five stars. There's a sequel though, and I look forward to reading it. "

" I rated this read as a two star simply because it was just OK. It was interesting enough for me to finish (I wanted to find out how the wolf Kala stops a war between man and wolf) but not so spellbinding that I continue the series. Who knows, I may experience a dry spell with nothing to read and I may read it in the future. As I said, it was just OK..... "

— Eline, 1/23/2014" I am not a big fan of books told from the point of view of animals. That said, I found this particular novel quite good. The social structures and interactions of the wolves were unusual enough to hold my interest and the main character struggled under enough adversity to make the plot intriguing. "
