"From the sublime ( Henry James ), to this, the ridiculous. Don't even ask me where I found this, but it was a wonderful faux memoir romp about a down and out writer who finds online poker to be his salvation. It is witty, intelligent and written in modern vernacular, a very fast read and one that I really couldn't put down. Probably a boy's book, and I really don't see any of you reading it, but I swear, if you do you won't regret it!"

" Online poker addiction wouldn't seem to make for a crackling good read, but this book was really enjoyable - smart, funny, engaging, and with a twist ending that I didn't see coming. "
— Ben, 1/10/2014" What seemed clever on page 50 turned tedious and overwrought by page 180. "
— John, 1/5/2014" Readable, but not good. "
— Robinne, 10/17/2013" Harsh words for many mainstream authors. Wonder if there is any fallout from that. it was an intriguing story and kept me reading. Definitely an original story. It was not as funny as I hope. "
— Thomas, 9/4/2013" Amazing dive into the world of online gambling and how this is shaped by social networking. Excellent! "
— Cathay, 4/12/2013" Although I might quibble with some of the details of on-line poker, the narrative surface, the observations on contemporary lit (Frank's I think, rather than Ted's), and the plot twists are all wonderful. "
— Captain, 10/23/2012" I returned it to the library without finishing it. After about 50 pages I didn't care about what happened to the guy, so I thought it was time to quit. "
— Imasongbyrd, 8/26/2012" Not that funny. Not suspenseful at all. Not absorbing. Not interesting. Not compelling. Not well-crafted. Not entertaining, even mildly. One of those books that has me wondering if I've read the same book that others who gave it glowing reviews and praise did. "
— Charity, 7/15/2012" Who knew the memoir of an online poker playing struggling author could be such a page turner? Worth the read just for the screen names of the poker players (ie Bjorn 2 Win) and the rants against popular current authors. "
