The beloved story of a spunky young girl and her hilarious escapades. Tommy and his sister Annika have a new neighbor, and her name is Pippi Longstocking. She has crazy red pigtails, no parents to tell her what to do, a horse that lives on her porch, and a pet monkey named Mr. Nilsson. Whether Pippi’s scrubbing her floors, doing arithmetic, or stirring things up at a fancy tea party, her flair for the outrageous always seems to lead to another adventure.

"We loved Pippi Longstocking- her super strength, resourcefulness, sense of fun, and best of all, her big heart! Pippi is a great role model for young kids. Astrid Lindgren does a beautiful job creating a child's world filled with adventure and imagination. My son had such a great time imagining how he might enjoy playing with Pippi and her neighbors. Lindren's language is straightforward and well-written- making it perfect for very young children to enjoy the story without struggling too much with words and meaning. Proves once again that simple can be just as lovely as complex. We're currently reading a few other things, but fully intend to read more in the Pippi series."
