"How could you not love a book about a witch looking for pigs to make pie and not being able to find them b/c the pigs outsmart her on MacDonald's farm?! The best part of this book is by far being able to use my scary witch voice whenever I read it and then using my sly wolf voice at the end when he talks the witch into going to his house for lunch...and both characters are pretty hungry by the end! By far one of my very very favorites! I used to read it every year on Read Across America Night to a room full of kids too."

" When a witch named gritch gets hungry she decides to make piggie pie. She realizes that she has all the ingredients except for the piggies. She goes to the farm but doesn't see any pigs because they disguise themselves as other animals. They Disguise themselves to trick the witch and the wolf. It's just another twist to a story about pigs and how they outsmart the witch and the wolf. "

" Also hilarious! This author has a great sense of humor, although not all her books are as great as this one. Another of our favorites is The Three Silly Billies. Illustrations in this book are fabulous. "

" suitable for kids over 3--this book is adorable and full of references to the three little pigs--that will make kids who know the story giggle. plus, with a little acting on the readers part, the book offers loads of opportunities for different voices. "

" Piggie Pie is a fabulous tale that is funny and just outright entertaining. Cross referencing/connecting of tales is one my very things and Piggie Pie mixes them up a few times. Be sure to really own the voice and demeanor of Gritch the Witch and your kids will love "Piggie Pie!" as much as I do. "
