Publisher Description

Brighton, 1855. As a member of the Order of the Round Table, Kendall Lake is overqualified to be investigating strange phenomena at a seaside photography studio. But since the photographer is related to the Order's most powerful sorcerer, Kendall reluctantly boards a dirigible to Brighton.

Amy Deland is haunted by a shadow that appears in some of her recent portraits. In each case, the subject died within days of the sitting. Does she have her grandmother's gift of foresight, or has she somehow caused the deaths?

As Kendall and Amy search for answers, their investigation draws them together in a most improper way - but it seems the evil presence in the studio is determined to keep them apart.

"This novella is currently being offered as a freebie by the publisher, Carina Press. Go buy it! Historical romance, steampunk - call it what you like, but it's a fun read. The story hangs together wonderfully well and the characters are brilliant. "

" Just ok for me. The whole sex scene could have been left out in favor of more character and story development. This is the first time I have read anything buy this author. I might look for something else by her but it won't be high on my priority list. "

" Fairly predictable short story. It's a little too romance-y for my taste and the steampunk aspects seemed an afterthought. Still if I had read the first novel in the series, I'd definitely pick this up.Electronic ARC provided by NetGalley "

" I didn't realize this was just a novella. Or I forgot it was a novella between putting it on the Kindle and reading it. I hate novellas. I actually liked the idea of this one and it's well written. But. I hate novellas. I never believe in the romance because it always happens in, like, a day. "

" Pronography is so nasty! They should call this book: Photographs, Phantoms, and Pornography. "

" This is a free Kindle romance with a very light paranormal edge. It is short and sweet, taking about an hour or so to read. "
