"Palace of mirrors is another one of Margaret Peterson Haddix's amazing classics that I couldn't put down. I liked the atmosphere of it. It is a little like the past when kingdoms ruled. Cecilia is like any other peasant girl. She lives in a small house with her Nanny. The only different thing about her from any other girl is that she is actually a princess! Her parents were murdered and she was handed to one of the most trusted nights, Sir. Stephan. He taught her how to be princess so when the danger left the palace, the decoy, Princess Desmia, would give her her throne to the real princess. She and her best friend Harper are sent on a voyage. They choose to go to the palace, Harper has a harp that he is forced to play by his mam, but that harp might have more value than he thinks. Along the way there are traps, scares, and something that will change Cecilia's life forever; is she really the real princess, or has she been lied to?"

" I enjoyed this book because it had great detail and was full of adventure from the start. It was about 13 young girls that were told from when they were babies that they were the true princess and that a commoner was at the throne to keep them safe. Once all of the girls decide to go to the castle and reclaim their throne... It gets confusing. All the princesses come up with a plan to decide which girl is the true princess by reading a letter written by the queen. At the end, they all find out that they were orphans adopted by the queen and her own baby died. To solve their problem, all the girls help rule the kingdom and everyone lives happily ever after. "

" I read halfway through the novel and its predictability had me close the book. I simply wasn't interested in dragging myself through the remainding pages. Afterwards, I learned about the ending and felt a little robbed of my fairy tale ending. All the girls rule? UG. That's a little disappointing. "
