Isolated and tormented by his thoughts, he begins to uncover that the legacy he has received holds more than he ever anticipated. As his isolation deepens, Jimmie must face not only the mysteries of the mansion but also the fears within himself that are beginning to take control.

Walter de la Mare (1873–1956) was an English poet and author of novels and short stories. Although he is best remembered for his works for children, he is also known for his lyrical, fantastic poetry and his supernatural tales of psychological horror. His Collected Stories for Children won the 1947 Carnegie Medal, and he was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in fiction for his 1921 novel Memoirs of a Midget.
H. P. Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author who achieved posthumous fame through his influential works of horror fiction. Virtually unknown and only published in pulp magazines before he died in poverty, he is now regarded as one of the most significant twentieth-century authors in his genre. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, where he lived most of his life. His relatively small corpus of work consists of three short novels and about sixty short stories.
