Publisher Description

I'm so disorganized! I can't get my act together! My inner life is a mess! How many times have you heard (or even said) those words? Our culture produces so many books to help us organize our work, our schedules, our studies, our careers, that we may be tempted to think it is possible to order our inner world by establishing control in the outer world of activity. Gordon MacDonald believes otherwise. In a memo to the disorganized he says, If my private world is in order, it will be because I am convinced that the inner world of the spiritual must govern the outer world of activity. He breaks down this private world into five sectors: motivation, use of time, wisdom and knowledge, spiritual strength, and restoration, and offers both inspiration and practical steps toward order. These are gleaned from years of Bible study and reading about the lives and writings of Christians throughout the history of the church, and tested in his own experience. Here is a very personal treatment of a very personal problem - Ordering Your Private World.

"I really enjoyed how practical this book was. It gave advice on how to really get your life in order and ways that you can actually do that in your life. It's a book that takes the scripture and really puts them to use in our daily life. I highly recommend this book. Don't put it at the bottom of your to-do list or to-read this. Put it at the top! After all, the sooner you read it, the faster you will get to all those other items as well!"

" One of those books that is life-changing. I haven't even had time to breathe in the past few months as I've been striving for my best with my business. It seems everything else has gone to the dogs in the process! This book is getting me back on track with everything that is important "

" Great book with many great insights on how to not only organize your life for what is seen in the outer appearance, but rather ordering it from the inside-out. The book can be a little hard to read though. "

" This book really made me think about life in a different way. It is a book especially good for over-achievers and people who are really busy. It helps a person start to order their inner life, and gives a fresh new look at spiritual disciplines, making time for important things in life, and rhythyms of work and rest. "

" A fantastic book for driven folks (like I used to be/fight not to be.) Good focus on moving from drivenness to "calledness." I am all for ambition, but holy ambition is different than careerism, materialism, etc., that often masquerade as the real thing. This book also makes a great point that not just businessmen, lawyers, or doctors can suffer from drivenness, but so can those in "ministry." I highly recommend this book. "
