After years of searching for and finally landing that one perfect man, four Manhattan friends find themselves simultaneously questioning their romantic choices. Smart, strong, but jaded divorce lawyer India Chumley leads this pack of feisty thirty-somethings, all friends since grade school at the Sibley School, an Upper East Side institution for sophisticated ladies-in-training. There's Abby Rosenfeld Adams, a Jewish gallery owner married to her WASP college sweetheart; Monique Dawkins-Dubois, gynecologist and card-carrying member of Harlem's thriving Buppie-ocracy; and Esme Sarmiento Talbot, a Colombian heiress married to the All-American boy next door. When India, the most straightlaced of them all, learns that her friends are considering straying from their partners, she is dismayed. That is, until India's ex-fiancé—the love of her life, the destroyer of her heart, and the best sex ever—comes back into the picture, and she finds herself caught between the dependable man she thought was her future and the man she never quite let go of.
Against the backdrop of New York at its most glamorous, One Flight Up is a delicious debut from a talented new writer.

"This book started out a real page turner. But by the time I got to chapter 45, I was ready for her to wrap up the story (and it didn't end until 12 chapters later)!!! Definitely a good read, but a hard lesson for the heroine doesn't make the ending as satisfying as I had hoped. "

I had a ball reading One Flight Up. I wish the characters were real so we might have lunch!... A fun, fabulous, New York story that you won't be able to put down!
— Adriana Trigiani, New York Times bestselling author" Not my type of book but I read it for my book club. This books tells the story of 4 friends who are successful and smart but still dumb enough to risk their marriages in meaningless affairs. Some of the book cover blurbs described the book as a great beach read, I guess because of all the gratuitous sexual situations, but I found them sad instead of fun. There are certain books where the actions of the characters get me so annoyed that I don't enjoy the book, and this was one of them. "
— Christine, 1/10/2014" Pure trashy reading...marriage, affairs, scandals, etc. However, I read it in three days. No particular redeeming value, but a fun, enjoyable, sex-in-the-city type read! Excellent beach read. "
— Elizabeth, 11/14/2013" A story of a group of women and their relationships and how they came about cheating on their other halves. And the consequences of those cheating relationships. More of a how-to/not how to instead of a good story. "
— Michelle, 10/21/2013" A book for the girls. Although the guys might enjoy it. Pretty steamy in some respects "
— Tray, 9/8/2013" Great story filled with lots of drama. "

— Carly, 7/5/2013" A ethnic love story about cheating and success. "

— Ciana, 5/8/2013" Just OK at best .... I can't really recommend. "
— Dona, 4/12/2013" Enjoyed this well written adult romance. Susan Fales-Hill has an insightful way with her characters (flaws and relationships). The writing was intelligent, funny and mature. Love it. "
— Maureen, 3/11/2013" Hard to read because I wanted to smack the main character India and all of her friends in the face. entertaining enough. can't say that I would recommend. Decent summer reading. Oh...to have the "problems" of these chicks! "
— R, 10/17/2012" I loved this book. I can't wait til she writes another book. "
— Andrea, 9/21/2012" A little disappointed with this one. The women did not have many redeemable qualities and I don't know that et learned their lesson in the end. Plus the brand name dropping was a bit too much for me. It was a quick read, but I was not 100% satisfied. "
— Nicole, 5/14/2012" Interesting tale of marital affairs and their consequences, although a tad unrealistic in some areas. Good read. "
— Fcarterathome, 12/27/2011" basic chic lit but with a more annoying main character and more stereotypical buddies around her. "
— Shannon, 10/1/2011" Chic lit. Nothing amazing, not horribly written. "
