Publisher Description

Former Navy SEAL Brady McGrath has no trouble attracting female attention. But women never stick around long once they learn he can read feelings through touch. When an old Navy buddy hires him to protect his sister, he doesn't need extra-sensory abilities to know someone wants something from Gemma Cavanagh - something worth killing for.

Gemma's finally getting a handle on her own unique ability to make things disappear - even making them reappear on occasion. When someone breaks into her house and hacks into her computer, she's certain her soon-to-be-ex husband is to blame - until the police show up on her doorstep with the news he's been murdered. And she's their number-one suspect.

After barely escaping a firebombing, Gemma and Brady are forced into hiding - and forced to confront the chemistry between them. As they desperately search for the killer, can Brady help Gemma harness her abilities - and keep her from finding out about his own dark past?

"Patterson books are fast paced, light on the details, but interesting enough to read. This particular story is better than most, with enough action and plot twists to rush the reader to the end. The main character Nina Bloom makes a tragic mistake on the beach in Key West while still in college. A handsome prince, I mean policeman, rescues her, and they fall in love and get married. Then of course, she discovers that he is a crooked cop, escapes, and unfortunately runs into a serial killer, before beginning a new life, with a new name in New York City. To discover how she saves a condemned death row inmate, sends her daughter to Brown University, and meets the new love of her life, you have to read the book. Worth the day or two that it will take."

" I really wanted to like this book more... I liked the first half a lot, and I think the overall plot was good, but the second half of the book was poorly executed. I don't think that the plot in the second half was developed enough for my liking. Also, the antagonist running into the protagonist again by complete chance? No way. "

" I purchased this book two days ago and I'm already done. I couldn't put it down. Although it is a faced pace book, it's really good. Great book to add to my collection. Look fwd to reading more James Patterson books. "

" Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book in the car! Love James Patterson to listen to, the readers are usually great. This one was good, had some twists, even tho parts I could predict, JP is such a good storyteller, it really doesn't matter. Definitely worth the time! "

" Another quick Patterson/Ledwidge collaboration. It was okay. It wasn't quite as repetitive as the last few, but it wasn't so intricate or unpredictable as it could have been. Everything seemed to have wrapped up rather quickly...there wasn't quite enough meat to the story. "

" Good beach/pool read. No Pulitzer-winning fiction here, but if you're looking for something easy to pick up (and something that doesn't require extensive brain engagement), Patterson's stuff always delivers. "

" I choose this book because I liked the YA Maximum Ride books that he wrote. They were much better and a bit more suspenseful. Still if you don't have a lot of time James Patterson's style is a quick easy read and it was a fun read. Could have lived without the f bomb. "
