Publisher Description

Andrew's life is a cliché: he's a gay man trapped in a loveless marriage, thanks to his religious, overbearing mother. Then a new couple moves in down the street, and Andrew finds himself falling for Nathan in a big way. Nathan is straight, married, and just about to be a father, but after one fateful night out together at a club, Nathan has to face the fact that his feelings for Andrew go way beyond that of a friend and neighbor.

When Andrew's wife asks for a divorce, both men's lives are thrown into disarray. Arguments about their responsibilities to their wives and children, doubting themselves and each other, and some harrowing lies pull them apart...but they never leave each other's thoughts.

"Absolutely brilliant! Loved, Loved, Loved this book. I'm not surprised really because I loved Morning Report too. Andrew is such a sweetie. I just loved him so much and really wanted to wrap him in a blanket and take care of him. Nathan took awhile to grow on me but I ended up loving him just as much. I wanted to kill his wife for her stunt. Andrew's ex was so awesome; she was an amazing woman. I loved their community of friends. So tight knit and protective of each other (for the most part). Just a truly amazing book. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it."

" I give this book a reluctant 4. Not my favorite quality of writing, but there were a few moments that just ripped my heart out, and for those I have to give it a four. The character of Nathan made me so angry throughout this one that honestly I had a hard time wanting him to be happy. The author needs to practice writing American characters whose internal dialogues don't speak in a British accent. "

" Lots of angst, fear, and heartbreak in this one, but it's worth every word. Excellent story. "

" A nice change of pace from the usual "they meet, have sex, fall in love, misunderstand each other, then make up and have an HEA" type of romance. This was a slow-simmering love story that really let you get to know the heroes and the reasons why they are who they are. And the reasons why they can't just be together. Well written, with a good narrative voice. And at 260+ pages, it was a nice, meaty story to sink into for a while. "

" I bought Nothing Ever Happens the day it got released and then stayed up till 4 am because I couldn't stop reading it. This is definitely one of the best books I've read this year so far. I love characters that aren't perfect and romances where it isn't one straight road to a fairy-tale ending. "

" There were good things about this story, but as a gay man, I found parts of the premise offensive. "

" This is probably my favorite type of book, one with complex, imperfect characters. The two MCs are married, so their relationship has consequences for a large number of people, and they don't always make the best choices. It is an excellent book, and I look forward to more of Sue Brown's work. "

" Good, engrossing. I cared about all the characters deeply and hurt when they did, but I also celebrated when they did. I highly recommend this story. "

" A very push-and-pull romance between two neighbors. I didn't care for the infidelity, as both men were married. Also, not too keen on the push-and-pull dynamic. Once or twice is good, but not 5 or more. It becomes boring and commonplace. "
