"Has the shock factor and the ability to scare the living daylights out of you. I thought this is one of his best along with The Ghosts of Sleath. I was sad with the ending however, but in a good way. It is a fabulously well written book which I would and have recommended to many." — Emma (5 out of 5 stars)

" Reminds me of the movie "Insidious". Liked the first-person style. But later on I got bored. Not actually a horror novel. I guess Herbert have better novels than this one. "
" Nobody True is definitely an interesting story, but I believe that the book would have been better served had Herbert left out the long-winded beginning, as well as the multiple digressions at the end that just seemed to go on and on forever. "
" One of my favourite books of all time with more than a passing resemblance to Laymon's classic Body Rides ;-) "
" I just couldn't get into it. Seems to be happening a lot lately :( "
" A good murder mystery. Nothing spectacular... just good. "
" truelly gruesome; one of herberts better efforts, if a little hammy at times. "
" This book was recommended by a friend. I don't usually read horror but I really did enjoy this. A really good, gripping storyline. Great characters with lots of depth. The OBE was explained in great detail, which I found quite fascinating. A great read. "
" Great story but far too much waffle and very repetitive. "
" Loved it! Engaging, scary and didn't expect the plot! "
" I didn't think this book started off too badly but it turned into a bad "made for TV movie" by page 100. Filled with gore and explicit sex acts..not for the squeamish. "
" Herbert had an original premise, and did a good job with it. The ending however was lame, involving the fallacy of the talking bad guy and an unnecessary and nonsensical revelation. Out of 10, this book gets a six. "
" To return from an out of body experience to find you have been brutally murdered & there is nowhere for you to go back to is a big problem so you end up wandering in limbo. James Herbert is one of my favourite horror authors & of the ones i,ve read this is so far the best. "
" A good book , enjoyed it ,the ending.....! "
" Fantastic, the ultimate deep horror fantasy, one of my favourite books ever. Make sure you concentrate when you read it - its amazing. "
" James Herbert kind of went back to his old style for this book. It's the only book of his that actually gave me nightmares. A good read and one that is hard to put down. "
" The premise of the book drew me in - what happens if whilst you have an 'out of body experience' your mortal body is murdered... I really enjoyed this dark tale and think it would make a great movie. "
" story's good. for readers who love to read about OBE's or out of body experience. interesting topic. (: "
" fantastic book. Grips from the very beginning "
" So-so mystery about an out-of body experience after he is murdered. "
" I loved this, the idea of astral travel interests me quite a lot. I'm very much a believer in it. There were some good ideas in it. Well thought out James. "
" a very good book ...thought provoking and none stop action "
