Publisher Description

Enter the world of the rich charismatic Lytton family and their powerful publishing empire in this passionate family saga, spanning the Edwardian era to World War I and the excesses of the glamorous 20s. Enter the world of Celia LyttonÑa woman who is used to getting her way. She moves through life making difficult and often dangerous decisions that affect herself and others, not only her husband, Oliver, and their children; but the destitute Sylvia Miller, whose life is transformed by Celia's intrusion; Oliver's daunting elder sister, who is not all she appears to be; and Sebastian Brooke, for whom Celia makes the most dangerous decision of all.

"If you like historical fiction, then the details in this book will grab you. It did drag a bit in the middle, but the author did a good job of adding tension to key places that keeps you engaged. Toward the end, I didn't want the story to end - always a good sign!"

" I tried really hard to get into this book but I just couldn't. I think you either love it or get really bored with it. It's like reading a soap opera and although the characters aren't too bad, it's something to do with the writing that makes it less exciting....or boring at times. It's not terrible, but not great either. "

" I picked up this book with high hopes. It's a story of a wealthy British family during WWI so I was hoping for a Downton Abby fix and it's a trilogy so I was hoping to be busy reading for a looong time. It was just OK. The characters aren't richly drawn and nothing of much interest happens to them. "
