Publisher Description

In 1777, during the War for Independence, Nate Donovan is the younger brother in an Irish Quaker family in British-occupied Philadelphia. He is too young to join the Continental Army that is fighting for America’s freedom, but when the war comes through the Donovan’s front door, Nate becomes the youngest member of General George Washington’s spy network. Dangerous? If Nate and his Indian friend, Running Fox, are caught as spies the penalty is death by hanging.

"Trevin had to read this for a school assignment, so I figured maybe I should read it too...that way I could thoroughly harrass (I mean, assist) him with helpful ideas for his book report! And it was really a good book! Go G.W. :) "

Quotes

  • “Cashman voices the large cast of characters with ease. Nate, in particular, sounds authentic and youthful. Narrating at an unhurried tempo, Cashman sets each scene and draws the listener into Nate’s world.”

    — AudioFile
  • “Marc Cashman uses his voice effectively to make each character come to life in this historical fiction title…His voicing of Running Fox’s choppy English and the British and Irish accents of the numerous generals, captains, and colonels is spot-on. The conclusion provides an historical note that offers additional information about the people, places, and events of the war. A good selection for family listening and for generating discussion about history and faith.”
