"I believe this is at least my third P&P variation novel hinging on the plot where Mr. Bennet dies and leaves his family with little protection but it is by far my favourite to date, I believe. I think it is probably the best novel Abigail Reynolds has penned to date. The boldness of her decisions in certain alterations of the plot dictated a certain change in the character of some of the supporting cast and the ultimate conclusion but it was well handled, whereas her characterisation of the main ones was most consistent compared to her earlier novels. My first encounter with Ms. Reynolds was in reading Fitzwilliam Darcy, the Last Man in the World where I thought her alteration of Lizzy to be extremely poor, turning her into an unrecognisable woman. I am pleased that the quality of Ms. Reynolds writing has improved significantly since then. I was very happy with the way this book turned out, especially as the Kindle price was rather steep for me and I am finally happy to have a romance novel purchase that is justified by the writing. I might actually be willing to re-read this one, which will truly be the test of how well it holds up to scrutiny." — Shy (5 out of 5 stars)

" I fell in love with this book when I read the first page ( I actually read chapter 2 but still :)). I LOVE Mr. Darcy. Especially in this book. It made me cry and laugh. If you love Mr Darcy you should read this book. And mr bingleY is in this book so yeah. :-D "
" I love the idea of alternate endings or ways of achieving the same outcome by a different path that the author has done in several books. This one was well done, but had some elements that were a bit uncomfortable to read. It has some graphic sexual descriptions, so beware! "
" Sadly like most P&P AU novels, this just rolls in the utterly melodrama of the plot complication without the redeeming banter and lightness of the original book. "
" Another fun Pride & Prejudice variation from Abigail Reynolds. My only issue with the book is that I wish the back-cover copy (implying Darcy has less-than-honorable intentions) more accurately described what actually happens in the book. Four stars for an entertaining read that didn't quite do what it says on the label. "
" Enjoyable but lacking in depth. "
" By far, the most well-written of her variations. But Ms. Reynolds executed my least favorite variation the best! I'm too much of a romantic! :) "
" Obsession, like STALKER obsession!! He hangs out around her house, hires spies, sends secret flowers...waits around for her to walk by and "bump" into her! Lol. A fun read and I enjoyed it much like the others. "
" A well-written variation with an alternative ending to "Pride and Prejudice" "
" I enjoyed this book tremendously. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the plot as well as the writing style. I know there has to be a sequel to it since it leaves you hanging in a sense. Who is Col. Fitzwilliam really? Wow, that Aunt is great on the Darcy side. "
" Good. What if story of Elizabeth and Darcy "
" This is a wonderful book that is full of entertaining characters and surprises that will keep you reading until the end. "
" I LOVE Jane Austen and I HATED this book!!!!! I admit that I couldn't get past the first 70 pages because the more I read the more I disliked it! Some books just leave a sour taste in your mouth and for me, this was one of them! "
" Loved this book! It kept me riveted late into the night! "
" I enjoyed this book as I do all Abigail Reynolds' books, but in all honesty, this is not my favorite of her books. "
