"I think this is pretty well-written, especially for a former football player. It combined war with football with friendship and romance and espionage along with religious extremism. While some parts were pretty predictable, the story was good overall and definitely keeps the reader engaged!"

" The writing is not good but this is a fun read. "
— Michelle, 2/20/2014" I liked this and will read more of his books! A nice blending of genres! "
— Audrey, 2/19/2014" Not a bad read. Entertaining if predictable. Written by an ex-football player. Kinda silly the way he was made to "change the names to protect the innocent" in a work of fiction. The Denver Mustangs, really? I wonder who that could be? "
— Fernando, 2/11/2014" A freebie I got for my Kindle and was sort of excited to read! I love football and know who Jason Elam is, and this book is definitely full of football talk! I liked the idea of mixing football and domestic terrorism. Unfortunately, it's something Tim and I have talked about, fearing it could happen one day. The book was funny in that no real players or team names were used, but they were close. Instead of the Denver Broncos, you have the Colorado Mustangs. Instead of the Baltimore Ravens, they're now the Baltimore Predators. I chuckled at all of the modified football references. The plot was fairly easy for me to figure out, pretty early on, but that didn't bother my enjoyment of the book and plot one bit. I really liked it :) "
— Stacy, 2/2/2014" I got this book free from Amazon for my Kindle. I didn't really expect much having gotten a free book before and didn't get past the second chapter. This book was really good and I am waiting for Jason Elam's next book. For an ex football player he is a pretty good writer "
— Sherry, 1/26/2014" Awesome!! Action Packed!! Can't wait for the new Riley Covington Series Book to come out in "09 "
— Dan, 1/10/2014" Absolutely fascinating and right on target! "
— Loretta, 12/27/2013" Some of the writing was cheesy. Other parts were too preachy, but overall a decent read. Heard about this book as they made fun of it on Sklarbro Country (Patton Oswalt episdoes). I think i may look for more Riley Covington novels... "
— Manuel, 12/4/2013" This book really grabbed me right from the start. "
— Jessica, 11/23/2013" Good book. Lots of twists and surprises. Once you get through the initial introductions it keeps you interested. "
— Stacey, 11/17/2013" The only reason I read this to the end was because I am very anal about finishing every book I start. Thank god I got it when it was free on the Kindle Store. Spending money on this story would have been a wildly unfair affirmation of its quality. "
— R., 11/17/2013" Who would have thought a book that mixes football, christianity, black-ops,and suspense would be any good? There is a good mixture of all of these which made this a book I had a hard time putting down. "
— Beth, 10/7/2013" This book was very predictable but was still a quick, entertaining read. Not one of my favorites but I wasn't bored out of my mind either. "
— Debbe, 7/27/2013" Great book from an awesome author. You won't regret picking up this great book. "
— Mark, 3/7/2013" Good read. Terrorists and football. A nice guy book. Might have been a little too much football. Not really the actuall playing of football but the talk about whats going to go on in the game seemed unneeded. "
— Ryan, 11/18/2012" Okay, okay, okay, it's a HORRIBLE title, but he's a football player, what do you expect? Ultimately, though, when you get past that cover, it's a great book! I thoroughly enjoyed the edge-of-your-seat suspense and believe it or not, it's written fairly well. You go, Jason! "
— Tori, 10/21/2012" Not necessarily the most original story, but it was exciting, brought up some important points, and I'm a big time Elam fan, so I can't rate too bad! "
— Keith, 4/22/2012" An action packed thriller that combines football and terrorism. Football star Riley Covington suffers a devistating personal betryal. It's worth picking up. This is a series written by former football player Jason Elam. "
— Clara, 3/27/2012" Wonderful, wonderful book! Much different than anything I usually read, but exciting and thrilling. I look forward to the sequel. "
— Joy, 11/2/2011" An easy, fun read. It was better story than I thought a pro-football, kicker could come up with. I thought the addition of contrasting religions to this story was interested without being overbearing or annoying. I won't look at my next Bronco game the same. "
— Dawn, 8/9/2011" Great suspense book. It's from an author who knows his football. "
— Jessica, 6/18/2011" Read this for Book Club. Good book if you can wade through all the football junk. definately written for football fans ---- "

— Mary, 6/13/2010" Exciting action thriller that was a free Kindle Download. There are some expected plot twists and turns, as well as a resolution that's quite unexpected. "
