Former Black Ops army sniper Mercy Gunderson isn’t adjusting well to the laid-back rhythm of civilian life on her family’s ranch in South Dakota. To fill her time, Mercy accepts a temporary bartending gig at a local watering hole. Yet her attempts to settle in back home are tested when Titan Oil, a Canadian company proposing to run an underground pipeline through Eagle River County, sends Jason Hawley, Mercy’s former army buddy, to the area to convince ranchers to get behind the project. While local business owners support the pipeline, Hawley’s presence riles the landowners, and Mercy is torn. After ugly threats and multiple altercations escalate tensions in the county, Mercy discovers Hawley’s brutally mutilated body in the bar parking lot. When it appears Sheriff Dawson cares more about campaigning for reelection than investigating the case, Mercy vows to find Jason Hawley’s killer — even if she has to run against Dawson for sheriff to ensure justice is served. But Mercy soon learns her former military pal had plenty of secrets. Her search for the truth brings unwanted exposure to the county’s dark side and risks deadly repercussions for the entire community. Download and start listening now!

" This is the second book of the "Mercy" series. It's even better that the first one. Lori Armstrong hits her stride as a mystery writer. The story is compelling and it's hard to put down. Mrs. Armstrong makes us love Mercy Gunderson whether we want to or not. . . she's such a unique heroine. Can't wait for book #3. "

" I loved the book. The plot was great and I love the flash backs she has. I think its a good way to learn more about Mercy's past. Now I'm wondering what will happen after the meeting that was talked about in the end. Would be fun I think to see what could come of that. I can't wait to read the next book. "

This book was passed on to me by my Mom and I went ahead and read it, even though I hadn't read book one of the series. I'll definitely look for that one next time I shop at my local independent mystery book store. "

" # 2,follow up to "NO MERCY" and former Army sniper, Mercy Gunderson. Takes place in South Dakota as Mercy tries to adjust from her time in the Army. I mean...what can an ex- Army sniper really do on her family farm in her small town? Hello! Sheriff Dawson!!! Great strong female character. "

" For me to stay up til 2AM, two nights in a row, reading Mercy Kill, that means it's good. If you like a strong female primary character, this series is for you. Well written, well developed characters, puts the spotlight on North Dakota and the Native Americans culture of that state. "
