Publisher Description

When a secretive American cult moves to the Gold Coast, freelance journalist Scout Davis's investigative antennae start quivering. She sets out to expose the cult's lunatic beliefs and bizarre practices, but when she learns the identity of a recent recruit, her quest becomes personal. And dangerous.

But Scout has her secrets too. In the dead of night she sneaks out with an underground group of yarn bombers to decorate the locality with artworks. The next mission ticks all the right boxes - it's risky, difficult, and extremely silly. However, Scout has a sneaking suspicion that the local police sergeant, Rafe Kelly, is hot on her tail.

"Fun book, and I loved the Byron Bay setting and descriptions. A bit tedious at times and clunky , and a bit too chick-lit for my taste!, but I 'd like to read the second one and see where Maggie ( and Scout) is going with this series:)"

" It is going to have to be a very very good book to oust this wonderful, funny, fabulous and addictive book from the very top of my "the most enjoyable cannot put down book I've read" list. My wish - please more Scout Davis books. "

" A well written Australian story...love the lead character, Scout Davis who is a strong and independent woman. Well worth a read and cannot wait until Maggie Groff's next adventure for Scout in March 2013. "

" Longwinded. Main story was interesting, the 2 subplots just dragged it out, one of which was a pointless bit of whimsy. "

" Ok. This was a fun easy read. The characters and plot are vivid. But it needed a good edit to get rid of some of the weirder descriptions. And not a single person advised her against an affair? Too flippant on a big plot device. Byron bay a great location. "

" Its always fun to read a book set in places you know, especially so close to home (this one is set on the Gold Coast and Byron Bay). I enjoyed the story, liked the characters but did have moments when I did wonder if she could wrap it up! She also went on a bit too much about her diabetes! "

" A really fun read by a first time novelist. Scout is a journalistic investigator who has diabetes and seems to find herself in interesting situations. There are many well written characters that intertwine with each story. "
