From the author of Peace Child, Don Richardson, comes Lords of the Earth, an unforgettable story of missionary tenacity and zeal that sold over 100,000 copies in the hardcover edition. // Engulfed in the darkness of Irian Jaya’s Snow Mountains live the Yali–naked cannibals who call themselves “lords of the earth.” Yet in terror and bondage they serve women-hating, child-despising gods. Missionary Stan Dale dared to enter their domain. // Lords of the Earth is the story of Dale, his wife, his companions, and thousands of Yali tribesmen–all swept together in a maelstrom of agony and blood that climaxes in a dramatic, unexpected ending. If you were captivated by Don Richardson’s “can’t-put-it-down” style in Peace Child, you will be moved by Lords of the Earth in a new and different way.

"Just finished re-reading this again. It definitely gets better each time, but it's partly that I need a few reads before I can really savor this type of book. The first time or maybe even first few times, I tend to be in too much of a hurry to find out what happens. And on a sidenote, I just happened to catch that there's some sort of tech company in our area called "Shadowfax". How cool is that? ;)"

— Melissa, 1/12/2014" I've been a big fan of the movies for a long time, and one day I asked myself why I haven't read the books. I wasn't into big books, to tell the truth big books sorta scared me. But my little brother started reading this trilogy and I didn't want him to read something I haven't so I decided to read them. I finished the trilogy in 9 days. A record for me. I can't wait to read them again. "
— Sydney, 1/4/2014" It took me 6 months to read this whole book, but now that I have re-read it all, I am glad to have done so. "

The language, imagery and creativity is astonishing, while the underlying theme of courage, self-sacrifice, honour and friendship should be essential themes in every school curriculum. I must have read this book a hundred times and am still very moved every time. "
