L.A. Outlaws: A Novel Audiobook

" Not bad, but I'm not sure if I'm interested in reading more by him. The main character, Charlie Hood, is a young cop and I think I prefer them older. "

Parker introduces Charlie Hood in this one, but much of the time we're in the head of Allison Murrietta, a young, attractive, smart outlaw who is distantly related to Joaquin Murrietta. Even though Allison is on the wrong side of the law, we can't help but root for her as the stakes and danger in her life escalate. A must read from Parker. "

" Parker is such a good writer that even though the plot is completely goofy, I didn't mind one bit. Extra half star for 1) setting a foot chase around Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance which I read while sitting in the customer lounge of the Saturn dealership ON HAWTHORNE BOULEVARD IN TORRANCE, and 2) the following line describing two characters having hot sex: "It was like two tornadoes competing for the same trailer park." "

" Audio Book. I like books where the hero is a good guy and it all works out in the end. In this story the hero is a crook who doesn't do anything but die in the end and then her kid becomes a crook. It was entertaining but not my favorite. "
