It's been a busy few years since Jo Mackenzie lost her husband. Life has brought adventure, surprises, unexpected pleasures, and, of course, lots of knitting. Jo's seaside yarn shop, with a brand new café, has taken off, keeping her busier than ever. And being a single mum to two boys and headstrong toddler Pearl is just as exhausting and enchanting as she thought it would be.

On top of all that, celebrity diva Grace has a secret, Jo's firecracker best friend Ellen is launching a new television series, and lovable but hapless Martin continues his oft-misguided attempts to woo Jo. Just when Jo thinks she has about all she can handle, Daniel, Pearl's globe-trotting dad, turns up out of the blue.... But with a little help from her friends, and her beloved Gran, Jo is building a new life for herself by the sea, stitch by stitch.

" Slower starting and repetitive compared to the first 2 books but I still enjoy these characters so much. "

" This was like a book version of one of those quirky small town BBC dramas. Like any good soap you can come in any time and easily get caught up with what is going on. I enjoyed the dialog sprinkled with British expressions, but will not be searching out books one and two. "

  • 4 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 54 out of 5 by Kathy Rogers | 1/31/2014

" Fourth in the series. This felt like catching up with old friends. Mildly romantic. Quick read. Read about knitting for a couple of hours instead of knitting myself. "

" This is the third book in my favorite "knitting" series. I love the fact the the yarn shop is a central character, and that the stories are funny but not too sweet. Also gratified that the quality of the stories is still on the way up! "
