"This is the first book in this series I have listened to an I was completely captivated. I got into author David Thompson's by accident. I tried this book and was not sorry. I am now locked into listening to the rest of the series. I expect that I will listen to these book more than once. It is great to get to know the characters and the areas that they travel. If you like stories of the west you will love this series."

" i really enjoyed this book. this young boy goes out on his own and uses his skill to survive. what i really liked is the fact that he WANTED to, where as, most books, he would have been lost, or forgotten. and if you liked this, you should read "hatchet" "
