First you drink, then you DIE.

The Nightcap Strangler, who terrorized the town of Shadow Falls 16 years ago, has finally been executed. Case closed. Until Bryan Kendall's lover is murdered in the notorious killer's unique style, and the rookie cop stands accused. Has someone committed the perfect copycat crime...or was the wrong man put to death?

A continent away, Dawn Jones hears that her first love has been accused of murder and knows that only she can help him. But to do so, she'll have to face the very fears that drove them apart.

Together they'll work to uncover secrets someone's willing to kill to keep, and renew a love as dangerous as it is inevitable. And their best lead is the girl found dead in Bryan's bed, reeking of the whiskey poured down her throat before her killer squeezed it shut.

A killer who thinks that Dawn, too, could use one last drink....

"A serial killer story with an interesting twist--he managed to control his urge to kill for 16 years! Everyone thought he'd been caught and sent to prison. Unfortunately, an innocent look at the case files brings him back into action so he can kill the rookie cop he thinks is investigating. He just can't resist going back to his old pattern of strangling women and choking them on whiskey. Enter the somewhat psychic best friend of the rookie cop who is now being framed for murder. Can they uncover who's behind the deaths before the killer or the law catch up with them?"

" It was nice to go back and read about Dawn & Bryan from the Mordecai Young series. I liked that Dawn & Bryan had to struggle through issues from their past and work through them. Some of the things Bryan does are pretty far fetched, though, considering he is a police officer. It was fairly easy to figure out who the villain was in this book, too. All in all, this was a quick read, and I loved the storyline of Dawn & Bryan. I can't wait for the next two books to come out. "

" Contrived and ridiculous. I figured out "who dun it" before I was a quarter of the way through. It was painfully obvious and the characters were dumber than rocks. "

" I'm always up for a love story with a twist. I love the dynamic between the two primary characters. Their relationship was different from most love stories, because it wasn't all love all the time. A few twists and turns, but you may be able to guess the villain before the reveal. "
