Although everyone has stress, and stress is necessary for life, studies show that our inability to adapt to our stress causes a cascade of physiological changes to occur that, if left unchecked, can instigate a number of disease processes, including heart disease, cancer, depression, diabetes, digestive disorders, and chronic pain.

David Ison has been a composer, meditation teacher, author, and energetic practitioner for over 40 years. Faced with severe spinal injuries due to a car accident, he joined his musical skills with his extensive knowledge of meditation and the human energetic system to help him recover full mobility of his legs. Out of this experience, he developed an innovative and powerful healing system that utilizes music and breath, called The Ison Method.

The method is based on the premise that we all hold tension, stress and trauma in specific areas in our bodies. Using specific chord and rhythmic structures, this music entrains the body's breathing system, encouraging the listener to breathe slowly and deeply, and eliciting a deep relaxation response. This relaxation response helps to reverse our stressed physiology and allows the body to achieve its optimum state of health and well-being.
