"I was surprised to like this book. Don't get me wrong, but Poetry is not my forte and like this is super long Poetry. But the language was beutiful and the stories were great. I really liked it, it was pleasant and interesting, even moving. "

" Arthurian legends are fascinating, but all I could think of was 'Monty Python' when I read this. That could just be me, however. Good stuff, either way. "

" Gorgeous epic poem about the legend of King Arthur. The Idylls are varied in tone and have merit each on their own, but together they are best. This is my favorite telling of the Arthurian Legend I have read yet. "

" This is the book that led me to believe that Tennyson is overrated. I never went in much for stories about monarchy anyway, and poetry about monarchy does even less for me. "

" I spent the past semester studying this text in depth for one of my classes and enjoyed every minute of it! The imagery, symbolism, and social commentary blew me away. Tennyson has easily become one of my favorite Victorian poets! "

" Absolutely gorgeous poems...the final battle left me almost breathless. I was only able to read half of it for my thesis, but I'm going to read the other half over Christmas. What an incredible book. Beautiful and heartwrenching. *sigh* "

" The story of how one sin can ruin a world. I wish Tennyson had gone the extra mile and made it rhyme. I didn't care much for the first idyll, but after that my attitude improved, and I liked the subsequent ones very much. "
