About Stanley Fish

Stanley Fish is an American literary theorist, legal scholar, author, and public intellectual. He is the Floersheimer Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. In 1994 he won the 1994 PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay for There’s No Such Thing As Free Speech, and It’s a Good Thing, Too.
