Judith Matloff is a seasoned foreign correspondent who has pioneered safety training for media and women. She teaches conflict reporting at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and has consulted for many organizations around the world, including NBC Universal, the United Nations, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the State Department. She is the author of No Friends but the Mountains, Home Girl ,and Fragments of a Forgotten War. A graduate of Harvard, her articles have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, The Economist, the Financial Times, and other publications. She lives in New York City with her family.
